Dear Compeers...
Black magic should be embraced and practiced right along side with so-called white magic. The entire Universe and the balance of opposites are how the existence of all and the Source of all maintains itself. Just like half (or about half depending on where on the planet you live) of a full day is dark. So should it be with the practice of magic. As with most of the magical arts the right balance of light vs dark has to be maintained. Black magic...or the so-called "dark arts" should be part of every magician's practice. This would help maintain a balance within your practice...and may assist your magic to grow and to expand to new and unexplored avenues. The nay-sayer's and the timid practitioners who fear to enter are cheating themselves of magical experiences and, for that matter, life experiences as well. The time of season...or the reason for the theme has no real relevance as to how a certin practitioner should apply his or her art. Christmas or Easter, Beltain or Samhain...all magic should be embraced for all seasons. It is always the responsibility of each practitioner to use and to perform their magic as each feels they could or should. Continued Success, Dr. Dan |

Dr. Dan we can agree to disagree. I respect your position to perform Black Magic at Christmas. BTW what type of group would request this Christmas show since you brought it up, without naming names? Maybe then we could fully understand and be in agreement?
Call me old fashion, but I associate Christmas with family cheer, kids, fun, time off work relaxing stress free, holidays, recharging the batteries. I could not imagine going dark on this religious holiday with Black Magic and evil (if that is what you mean by Black Magic). Seems like a very strong, counter statement to Christmas, and not a very common practice. But then again, I have a boring, mostly "normal" life, with like friends and family. But I still play with so called "dark" objects. It's like celebrating someones birthday or anniversary with darkness. Oh happy times. But then again, I don't make off colored jokes at funerals. I'm a comedian and have the right to practice my art when and where I please. Or do I? Really, there is no bad time to do Black Magic? It's all up for grabs even on Christs birthday? Sure why not I guess. I say get new friends mate... but that's just my opinion Life is to short to walk in true darkness and I should know The balance you speak of (to me) is to know where the shadow line is and to not cross it for real, do not wander off the path and into darkness for one day you may get lost.... Best of luck with your Black Magic be safe, be happy and most of all stay healthy.

Xmas is traditionally a time for ghost stories. And I think the Krampus idea is brilliant. (My one cent. Ahhh, but it was a penny placed in the mouth of the deceased to pay Charon!)

Agreed Reese, I think those ones would float as most parents would get a chuckle.
Not exactly Black Magic, unless you put the kids in a blender first.... too far, too soon? Sorry just practicing my art

True Godzilla...
ACAAN the holy grail... Maybe that's why I like zener cards. You can guess and still have a chance of getting it right. Easier than throwing a dead, black cat over your shoulder at midnight, in the graveyard. But not as fun I guess...

"A Christmas Carol" is pretty dark material when you look at the subject material, but is there anyone here who would be uncomfortable reading or watching a movie version of it on Xmas?
I think Dickens shows us the way, go dark, but end light. |

Buy the wizards journal #22. The "Santa's bell" effect will play very well in your black magic Christmas show - you use an old sleigh bell to answer questions or communicate in a seance type presentation.
