Agree jonathan. I only vaguely recall something in the past between Sankey and this guy ... I'll dig around a bit and see what I can find. You'll have to get the others from the original poster. PM him.

He has a ten part video series on youtube. the last one has him wiping away magic related text on a whiteboard to replace it with a goal of getting into wrestling.
I don't understand the motivation that justifies giving away other people's work. Seems a strange interpretation of the line about knowing people by their works.

But why would an established magi give him their blessing? The most generous reason I can come up with is that they simply were ignorant of who they were dealing with and should have done more research. But the 52kards quote, IF true, hints at a much less palatable reason ... |

The fact that you can Google "Raven gimmick" and instantly see pictures of it is just evidence of the sad state of magic today.
Honestly, I don't see why the thing's so popular; the fraternity already had a better version for decades before. I've used the old Jack Miller Hold-out for years. It works for pretty much everything, and without a reset. Meh.

I think we should give him the benefit of the doubt, and say that he is misguided. I actually learned a lot from his channel in my early developments in magic. If he would only reveal tricks he came up with, then it would be just like the library magic book, but that is not the case unfortunately.
Reality is a real killjoy.

Some ask why he does it??? Simple - money! If you get enough subscribers YouTube pays very well. I know a number of expats over here in te Philippines making expat videos. Most make little to no money. One of them makes $1,000 a month, with just over 10k subs. And guys like scam school and disturb reality have tons more subscribers... so it pays well. And scam school & distrub reality are 2 of the worst magic channels I have ever seen! (other than the reveal kiddies, of course).

I'm afraid you are wrong about the subscriber thing. It is not based on subscribers. When you monetize a channel you make a unique deal with YouTube.
Reality is a real killjoy.

I did crazy man's handcuffs at work, the other day. A trick I learned, honestly, years ago. First time I've performed in a long time. Within five minutes, they googled it and figured it out. I wasn't upset, just kinda disappointed that something that was once a cherished secret is now so available to the masses.
