Doesn't Michael Murray's effect require that you ask the participant to think of a birthdate other than their own?

I think there might be too much math in this, especially if it requires order of operations that are more advanced than + - X or divided. Just my thoughts.

If I could only keep one birthday revelation it would be Atlas' CloudNine.

It's more random, which makes it harder to figure out. Yes, the main subject of the presentation is a very easy reading, which is simple to do - and the best of all is the message you leave your spectators with. The spectator may also keep your business card as a souvenir at the end of Astral Enigma. Best regards, Andreu. |

Since I've spotted CloudNine mentioned so many times, I thought I'd leave the link here for anyone interested in downloading it. It is a gift to everyone here on the Café - totally free:
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=82 It is the only birthdate divination I know of that gives you date, month, and year. Most others only give you day and month. While there are numbers involved, you NEVER ask your participant what they are. Everything they are thinking stays in their head, so it still feels like an encounter with a mind reader, and not a math puzzle. Presentationally, everything you ask your participant to do is justified. In my experience, the force has never been noticed, and the response has always been strong. I am, first and foremost, a performer. I have actually performed this material for paying customers and will continue to do so in the future. Don't get me wrong. I don't look down my nose at hobbyists, but material is refined through performance, kinks worked out, and presentational flaws refined. I feel like if I am going to SELL something to someone else, that's how things should be. I have a duty of care to be diligent in sharing only ideas that have been thoroughly explored, well thought through and tested via constant performance. And, as Dorian noted earlier, CloudNine uses multiplication once. In my intro to the effect, I always ask the participant how comfortable they are with simple math, suggesting they use their phone calculator if they have any concerns while offering the assurance that the math involved is simple. As far as CloudNine being convoluted or requiring the participant answer questions - readings move along more smoothly when questions are asked and benefit the process. While reading Kennedy's Bairn, I was struck by his assertion that effects are stronger for the audience when they don't see the revelation coming and I really think that's part of why this goes over so well - you're just talking to your participant about themselves and then, out of the blue, you tell them their birthdate. Any other framing, as Kennedy suggests, robs your participant of the climax by telling them what it will be beforehand. Anyway, I don't mean to derail the thread. I've just been mentioned so many times here already that I felt I should share some of my thoughts as regards this plot. Best, Atlas |

Don't forget my ideas have been praised by many important people: Richard Webster, Paul Carnazzo, Jerome Finley, Gregory Arce, and even you. I'm sure you know how much I struggle to release "workers" and not trash that doesn't work to the Mentalism community. Those who have read my material know this. So I take your comment as positive feedback. Thanks again, Andreu. |

Ever,
I was responding to questions and points raised about CloudNine, and not in any way commenting on Astral Enigma (which I know nothing about) or Andreu. As I said, I felt somewhat impolite bringing the topic up here as I know the thread's focus is on something else, but I had been mentioned so frequently here that this was the best place to address comments and questions. Best, Atlas |

Which can be used to calculate each one's individual astrological number: day date x month plus last two digits of the year of birth. Here it would make sense to use a calculator...(my number would be 267... Could calculate it in my mind, but wouldn't mind a help). Secretly you would get also day, month and year, and if you want so the star sign as well. Jan

There are several possibilities... But you wouldn't need any calculations as the app provides for you each input. I read it or all with one glance on my Pebble. Jan

Nice Jan!
I'm a fan of all types of mentalism - high and low-tech solutions. Although right now, I'm working hard on new impromptu mindreading ideas! Back to the thread, I will be working one more week in Astral Enigma before releasing, been very busy with some other subjects. Best, Andreu. |

BTW; please focus on your date of birth Jan... oh, now I see it!
I think you were born a day like today, the 19th of November! Happy Birthday Jan! PS: Was I right? Andreu. |
