Hi, all!
I'm looking to get a vest to wear for kids shows, adult shows, and for strolling, something that has that sort of universal appeal (I get way too hot in a jacket). I was thinking about this one. Does anyone own this? No reviews on the site. http://madhattermagicshop.com/magicshop/......id=10384 Thanks for any info everybody!! -Frank |

Frank,
I wear vests when I perform. I purchased several from The Men's Wearhouse and have been happy with them. Mine are all black, but during holiday season, ie right now, they have lots of colored vests. They also have a wide range of quality. They recently acquired, Joseph Abboud, a high end brand, and are the exclusive distributer of this brand now. Their vests are $125 and very nice. You also also want to take your vest to a tailor and have extra pockets added. Hudson |

Hi Frank, Whatever vest you get (and I haven't had any experience with the one you reference and for that matter I don't wear a vest in performing situations) I'd recommend you stay away from ones that are made of a synthetic material like polyester that don't allow your skin to breath. I've had the experience of wearing a cheap vest sourced from a novelty store (for an event that had nothing to do with performing magic) and I was perspiring the moment I put it on!

If you wanted the vest to be a trick, I highly suggest Color Changing waistcoat by Lee Alex. Buy it direct for him

Frank,
I do own one of these vests from Madhatter. It's pretty well make and the two pockets are large enough to get your hand into easily. I can provide some pics if you like. Regards, Tom

Seems like a standard vest to me.
I wear vests when performing as well- I get mine from Burlington Coat Factory for around $15 to $30 each. Sizing varies widely depending on the manufacturer, and I definitely will back up the problems with synthetics. Buy cotton if you can.

I use Lee Alex's 'union jack' waistcoat.
Works perfectly. Looks perfect. Red-white-blue-Union Jack. |
