Sending my thoughts to him from my little island in the med, let's hope he improves soon.

This was the message a little while ago , I was hoping they would transfer him to rehab but
"Ed Solomon is being moved into a hospice care facility."

Just got a note from Chris
that Ed has been shifted into Hospice care and will no longer be getting medications and has chosen to stop receiving food

Hospice will take care of him and ensure he has as gentle a passing as possible.
Thank you Gothicmagic for giving the difficult news.
Ed Solomon had a life crammed with achievement, and I hope he can look back on them all
with satisfaction and peace.
I hope someone is there to read our cards and letters to him, and will continue to do so-

The world is a slightly darker place today, but not 'good dark'. I wish Ed the rest and happiness he deserves, and may he awaken in better place. He is and will always remain a giant of the field.

Very sad news indeed.

He is moving on to be with the love of his life, his wife Dee once again, in a better place free of pain and strife.

I first learned of ED, through his write ups in 'The Linking Ring'.
Then there would come the amazement of getting PM's from the likes of Ed here on Café !
He would share and give advice to help out fellow Magi.
That is one of my favorite things about Café, anyday you may get a message/email from people you would not expect a message from.
It is funny how the posters in Spooky and the Crypt, also seem to be the ones with most Love and Care for fellow Magi !

I met Ed through the Shadow Network when he joined about 17 years ago.

We became friends and have been exchanging emails on dog jokes for the past 15 years.

In addition to being a gifted magic creator and story teller, Ed is a retired music teacher.

This may explain a lot, he os able to piece together little notes here and there and create beautiful melodies, then he is able to teach others his work.

I am really going to miss him.

Tony,has it been that long ago? Time flies when you're having fun, and Ed's been fun and a true joy from the start.

Wise and talented, fantastic sense of humor and so much more Giving and caring come to mind as well.


A supportive and understanding friend, as so many of us have found.



He loves dogs, and senior citizen jokes as well.

Tis sad indeed. He was a good friend and an influence on my approach to magic and stories.
I wish this day would never some for us but for Ed I wish him adventures and joy in dreamland
and his travels through time and space.
