I hope I'm not ruffling any feathers with this, but I joined themagiccafe primarily with the hope that somebody would be able to jog my memory.

I'm not a pro magician, in fact, I only know a handful of tricks, but they're pretty good ones.

A few weeks ago over thanksgiving dinner my brother reminded me of something I used to do that drive everybody nuts trying to figure it out but it was so simple I couldn't believe I was pulling it off.

Essentially, I was able to predict every card in a deck as they were turned over. "The next card is" and I'd always be right.

I remember this much. I would always miss the first prediction, afterwards I was always right. The trick involved me actually looking at the next card right in front of everybody but it was done in such a way that it didn't register. After I spilled the beans it still wasn't obvious.

It was stupidly simple, yet it's been over 40 years since I've thought of it and I simply can't remember what it is I did.

If you got from Ihop what the trick is, and you experiment a little, you can even get the first prediction right.

And there's a few different ways of doing the trick, too. ;D Most of the classics on general card magic have them within their pages. You just have to read a little and think about it to see.

Good luck with the magic!

"After I spilled the beans it still wasn't obvious."

Does this mean that after you showed people the trick you then told them the method?

Hey, 40 years ago I probably would have done the same thing.

Maybe he's learned how not to spill the beans by now.

Well, you have ruffled MY feathers.

Your reason for coming on here, appears entirely too casual.

Regarding your statement that "...I am not a pro magician...": That is quite evident. IMHO, you are not even an amateur. Neither amateurs nor professionals, would "spill the beans".

You are, again, IMO, just a guy who does a few tricks. Whether they are "pretty good ones" is debatable. Your opinion is strictly subjective.
