And they spend a ton of time and effort not only making the magic, but also creating and designing it. It's hard to put the right price on it. I know that when Penguin releases my tricks for $5 on the first day and $10 on subsequent days, I always think it's way too low. And, sure, sometimes, when I first see the price of something that's high, I 'wish' it were lower. But I never think a high price is "unfair" only because, yeah, good new magic is so freakin' hard to think up, let alone bring to fruition. I have such great respect for anyone who can do it. So maybe the fairer comment is "I would buy it if it were X" instead of "Y is unfair." And believe me, creators like me DO value what you and others on the Café say about price...we do read this stuff and take it into consideration when pricing future tricks....but the wrong language can sometimes turn people off, ya know? |

I thought this looked amazing!
I never saw the original, but whatever Rick is doing sure fooled me. I would certainly use this on stage for a bill to impossible location. Make it into a necklace and hang it on a volunteers neck and the dollar appears inside. |

Can we show it empty, put a bill in it and make the switch ? Here is an idea that might work: Use Jeff Kaylors Any Card To Any Spectators wallet gimmick. You borrow a bill , fold it and hold it in your right hand then reach into your left pocket pocket with your left hand and pull out the box with the back toward the audience. You appear to place the bill into the box and the audience hears the lid click and you immediately show the bill in the box and your hand empty. (People who own Jeff Kaylors gimmick will understand this move and how convincing it would look). So no, you aren't showing the box empty first but I really think this would be pretty darn convincing. |

But if you want to do the particular change I'm doing in the video, both bills must be pre-set...or you'd need to go under a table for 3 or 4 seconds. It's still a great box for the typical Bill-to-box trick (the main trick that all the boxes are for...but I just found this one use that's a visual change with 2 pre-set bills, if that makes any sense... |
