Nelson explained why that is in 1944 when he wrote EofM&AA when he talked about the Mental act.

Bill, does this mean you support that Mentalism is not just "for entertainment?"
By the way -- I have had some interesting results with your Slate. Kinda like a pendulum.

That's not what I am saying at all. Should you read Nelson and everyone should then an understand of the function and what the Mental act is will be understood. Because I really do not understand the context in which everyone uses this "for entertainment" thing. As the first thing I see when I read these types of general posts is that where they have gotten there information at is often not correct and has no relevant mention in any of the books. In fact many of the early books related to this Mentalism thing say something very different should one take the time to dust off an old book and crack its pages then proceed to have a look within.
Plus much of mentalism was performed in the "Parlor" as was seance work for that matter. One only need to understand what and how the "Parlor" was viewed during these periods to understand this concept of "entertainment" and how later generations change it without understanding what it is they are speaking about in the first place. That slate is great and no longer made production was cut short less than a dozen exist. PS it more like a planchette than a pendulum for the record do not want any one to get confused thinking "how does a slate swing on a string or a chain" or anything of that nature. |

Thanks, Bill. Glad you are here. No point in pursuing this line here, I guess.
Maybe we can chat sometime. I have an idea you might be interested in.

Best for me? In-person, up close.
Second-best for me? In-person, up close, with a bunch of other people watching. There, I tried to keep it simple. Hope it's good enough. XD

I just mentioned him in another thread. You must have read my mind, or predicted it, or something.
