Not sure if this is the correct place to post, but I'm looking for a Coins to Glass type of effect which uses a remote to cause coins to fall into a glass or bucket which is covered by a book. Sound familiar to anyone? Any sources on where to find such a prop would be extremely helpful.

You can make one yourself using remote door bell mechanism -- physical bell, not electronic sound.

It is small enough to build into a book so that each time the button is pressed the arm advances a slide holding coins.

Sounds good, but I'm not mechanically inclined. I would need directions and illustrations to guide me.

No remote control coin delivery system ever been on the magic market. Just to expensive and has to be custom designed for specific use.

Your question is just to vague to give you any further information. If you can express yourself more clearly, maybe there is an answer, but as you stated, there is not.

I thought I had seen something advertised in the past, perhaps with a pack of cards setting on a glass. I also saw a routine of Terry Herbert where he set a Harry Potter book on a misers dream type of pail and threw 4 invisible coins which were heard to land in the pail. I thought they came from the book, and believe he ditched a remote in his pocket afterwards.

How much money do ya have? Tim Wisseman is here in the Café. He builds this stuff for magicians. If you're not mechanically inclined, and you're broke, you're out of luck, I'm afraid...

Many magicians have custom magic apparatus made for them. Just because they present "their" creations, does not mean they are available to the general magic market. Terry Herbert is very famous, and he can get special gimmicks made much more easily then none notable name magicians.

Having your very own creations makes magicians stand out and separate from the other magicians available.

So just enjoy and be happy you even got to see the performance.

Just joking. Maybe the guy used a sound feke and a Utillty Pass when he dumped the coins into his hand. Cheaper anyway.

I VAGUELY remember someone doing--or maybe even selling--a "deck of cards" that would do what's desired, but, it was a long time ago.

Tannens sold a clockwork version using a deck of cards in the 1980 s.
Bob Reads version would be more trouble free though...but it is all sleight of hand.

Tango has a deck of cards that sit on top
of a glass and will produce coins in the glass.

I never stated that I wanted to "Steal" anyone's effect. I mentioned Terry Herbert because a post said my initial inquiry was too vague. I just listed a source as clarification. Could be I want the coins to fall from Rocky Racoon's bum, and fall into a bowl of Wheaties. (Hey, my routine right? Sets me apart from the rest). I wanted help with something I thought I had seen commercially advertised in the past...possibly many years ago. I figured the best place to ask such a question was the Café - many magicians, many memories, etc., and what do I get...a dissertation on ethics. Thank you "Harry Murphy, Dick Oslund, R Don and Bowers" for answering the question I asked.

Wow, the way you read it and the way I wrote it was two different understandings. That sentence means what it says, just because you see it does not mean it is being sold the open market. Where did I say anything about you stealing anything, it does not even imply that. Are you using a translator? If so it is not working properly.

So in short. I was informing you it was not available, in a remote control unit.

The simple way to do what you suggest is to just use a squeeze cloths Pin.

I'm sorry Bill for the misunderstanding. I thought I remembered a devise being advertised that delivered coins into a glass via remote control. I guess not. Since there is a "Remote Control Nearly Everything" on the magic market, I figured there must be a unit that could deliver coins that you could put in anything - a card case, a book, and so on. I guess not. Again, please accept my sincerest apology for jumping to conclusions. A great big thanks to you and everyone for your expertise, time and help.

Check out CW Coin Classic made by Viking Magic/Collector's Workshop. No remote included, but, none needed. And as far as a book goes, CW Coin Classic uses two glasses and a deck of cards between them....this is a clever effect and a real fooler, and I highly recommend it.
