Funny idea I thought to take some invisible string and set it on fire.
It looked cool - like the flame was burning air ha ha ha |

I purchased a version where the flame floats up from a lighter. No threads though. Is ok, but haven't tried it yet.

How much flame can you get from burning some "invisible string" you so called?

HEY:
Just buy some flash string and have a lenght of it at you finger tips, light the string with your lighter, and produce what ever you have hidden in your hand. Like beads, pearls, dollar, etc. Just use your imagination. Spurlock

I've heard that if you soak black thread in salt water, it will burn nicely.

I think the point was that the flame appeared to BURN NOTHING....so you don't see any source, which is a very cool idea..
A floating flame...which is controlled by you....it is the ultimate |

Just make sure that the thread isn't a plastic type of material. Plastic doesn't burn very nicely, and it's toxic. (Hair is also not a good idea to light).

If you take some invisible thread, tie it to the end of a cigarette and let it hang down, you can light the end of it, and have the flame float up to the cigarette and light it.

The trick where the flame floats from a lighter can be purchased at Hank Lee's. They also sell a floating flame, which is more on the expensive side. Hope this helps!

Hey Kyle,
I just tryed that cigarette thing and it doesn't work because the heat makes the string rise up. What kid of string are you using? |

I made a gimmick like the one for John Kennedy's floating match, a thin black wire wire. But I attached a wick to and it built it into a candle. Now I can make the flame appear to float off the candle. Also, I just bought the floating lighter from hanklee's today. Would it be possible to incorperate this principle inside a candle? How does it work?
