The second to the last thing I wish to be involved in is a mass shooting.

The very last thing I want to be involved in is having the unfortunate luck to be next to some idiot with a cowboy mentality and a six shooter attempting to return fire in a mass shooting incident thus drawing the shooters attention and aim to where I'm trying to hide Smile

Someone is shooting a gun outside of my flat. My situational awareness tells me it is better to post an animated gif than peek out the window.

Payne you have hit upon the dynamics of fluid hot situations. SO many variables, so many things in flux there is NO WAY to say one way or the other things would or would not happen.

You have mentioned one very definite possibility.

Why aren't you a clever boy . If I searched the forums how many times do you think you've posted that same phrase?
Asking worn out meaningless questions does not one clever make.

Take your fake attorney bs somewhere else.

I won't play.

Watch, now he's going to accuse my posts being frivolous and meaningless because I won't play his game.

Baseless assertions aren't meaningless, but this one isn't really persuasive, either. It certainly hasn't been "proven" that having a gun wouldn't have increased their chances any more than pointing to a dead guy in a seat belt "proves" that a seat belt wouldn't have improved the chances of the dead guys who weren't wearing one.

But don't worry; I only chase RS down because he seems intellectually honest and capable of engaging in rational discussion. You're safe.

I'll keep this at a level you can handle...

Yes it would have!

From none to infinitesimally small?

Of course, we should also account for the increased possibility of accidental death on all the days that terrorists happen not to show up.

If the options were slim and none, I'd prefer slim.

Yes from none to slim. Slim being MORE than none. We agree!!!! (This has been the point I have been hammering at all along. (Which you got early on by the way.)

I would always prefer the slim odds to having no chance.

It also depends upon the skill of the armed people. Simply HAVING the gun does not automatically give the same odds across the spectrum.

It was loud whatever it was, but it was only a couple of shots. It may be an Eid; I only keep track of the big ones.

Only a couple of shots? No, then not a forgotten anniversary.
