Speaking of boon writers... I recently got the Vernet writers but don't like the adhesive (doesn't seem to held tightly enough). Anyone know of a better adhesive? I have an old boon writer that uses muscilege (sp?) but needs to be moistened before use, however, holds like a dream!

I had exactly the same question.

Hey, I think I have found a funny something. I look in my disctionary and it says baboon is a monkey. It is sounding like a boon. So is a monkey writing. Ha Ha.
Think not what magic can do for you, but what you can do for magic.

I'm actually going to try making my own boon in coming days, so I've looked into some different adhesives that can be used. Of course, you could go with a disc cut from double-sided carpet tape or duct tape, the efficacy of which would depend on the brand of tape.
I've seen references to using magician's wax (a stickier type, such as that made from a urethane or petrolatum toilet bowl gaskets, if you're a do-it-yourselfer), mounting putty, museum putty, and even mucilage. Mucilage is a glue made from gum arabic and still available at some stationers. A thickish layer of mucilage (though not so thick as to flake oiut) can be applied to the boon and allowed to dry. It may then be moistened and stuck rather firmly to the thumb. Cheers! Keith
