Which is better?
When you buy the biting coin does it teach you how to do other tricks like the coin thru the table one? |

It depends on exactly what you want to do with it. With a flipper coin you can't do the "coin bite". But with any of the "bite-type" the coin spread before vanishing the coin is a little tight. What exactly are your main uses for your coin??

I use my bite coin for three effects: bite, bottle, and flipper. I have had no problems with it.

There's something called a Butter Coin, that does the job of a Flipper, Bite-Out, and more. Check out the video demo:

Personally I like the flipper coin, cause you can generally work it into more efffects

I've seen the Buttercoin in person and am not really that impressed. If you get a really well made flipper, it's hard to beat. There are some killer things in the works by Dean Dill using the flipper.

I've seen the Butter coin and own a flipper coin. I think the Flipper is a much better investment. Todd Lassen (www.toddlassen.com) made mine, and I have yet to find anyone who machines a better Flipper.

ALL of Todd's gaffs are the best available.

I would say the NEW "best available" coins come from Dean Dill and his great new mechanic. They have a new flipper coin that is a miraculous item... it is made a new way and blows all others out.

I've got a folding/biter and use it all the time, but after seeing the video for the Butter Coin, I admit I'm impressed. What have some of you against it? Just wondering before I plunk down 30 clams for it.

I can't really say without divulging the gaff. But it's just not really anything new, in fact I'd bet you already have a coin that does everything it does in your drawer.

Crack Open Roth's Expert Coin Magic and read his various coins through the table routines, therin you will find a use of a more common gaff that can do what butter coin does. Jamie is right, I would go so far as to say the traditional gaff is more versitile than Butter coin.

Hmmm... thanks for the input, gang. However, my gaffed coin collection is pretty limited and my skill with straight coins is ghastly, so new gaffs always pique my interest. Maybe I need to hit the local shop and see if I can play with one. Thanks again!

Firedice: The end-all do-all of Flippers is coming SOON!! Killer things can be done with it and the handlings are being worked out by one of the best in the business. We are trying to do away with the fidgety moves involved with using the current flippers.
