CAREFUL OF THAT LINK. SOMETHING AT THAT SITE DISABLED MY MALWAREBYTES SECURITY SOFTWARE REALTIME SCANNING. YOU MAY NOT REALIZE THAT YOU JUST DOWNLOADED A VIRUS OR TROJAN OR SOMETHING. Anyway, I'm running a scan now and will try to remove whatever little present I just got from that website.
Crozier was the original Goth magician of our times. I saw him twice in the late 60's in NYC with his Moon Rock Circus band at the World Festival of Occult and Magic. Richardi Jr. was the closing act. The guy was crazy, in a sort of fun way. Here are some sites about him that are not going to download a virus to your computer. http://www.dunkworld.com/Crozier_2.htm http://www.tooraktimes.com.au/entry.php/......ik-Story (you'll find some rare videos of him "performing" here) |

A correction to the last post. "The World Festival of Magic and the Occult" and the date was probably sometime from 70-73 (not late 60's). I'm getting old. Anyway the whole show was staged by Richardi Jr. And as much as Crozier looks like a mad man on some of those videos, I know he was capable of doing a well-rehearsed set. The two times I saw him at the festival, his act was note-for-note the same each time. About 20 minutes long. Music the same, stunts the same, as I say well-rehearsed.

The look of his hole extravaganza was fantastic - surely one possible answer for the question bizarre magic!

That would make him an early pioneer of bizarre magic, and quite probably the godfather of Australian bizarre magic.

On stage that is (I heard he was a bit batty around the house and around friends). That's a rehearsed act. And at the festival I mentioned, he went on for 20 minutes doing stuff like this, but the two times I saw it, it was basically note-for-note the same. Makes you all long for those square circles you tossed out or sold. Actually there is a lesson to be learned here. A good bizarrist can appear to be, well, bizarre if he/she has developed a well defined character and holds that character. From the stuff I've read about Crozier, he stayed in character a lot off stage as on. Otherwise know as a method actor. And evidently it worked for him. Over 40 years later, people still remember the bizarre character more than the "normal" man. Food for thought. |

I have been studying Geoff Krozier's recorded works for some years now.
Rob Greaves of the Rainbow Generator is a dear friend to me. He said performing with Geoff was a wild ride resulting in various pyrotechnic misadventures, sometimes fun, and sometimes frightening. In the youtube video "the Man, Magik, and Madness" you get to see him deal (very well) with lighting himself on fire during his performance. Honestly my friends, I think there is a remarkable degree of genius in his work. While his performance isn't accessible to every mind or taste, I wonder if he might have been the best of bizarrists. His work is the purest bizarre magic I have ever seen, distilled from magical madness, focusing chaos like a laser.
Beware of this and that.
