Dean Dill - one of the kindest men in magic (and hair styling). Rest in Peace, my friend. Magic is better for having you.

A huge loss to the magic community. Guys like Dean don't come along often.

I rode my motorcycle to Dean's Shoppe right around 5 PM on July 3rd one year. His shop was already closed, but he was outside getting his grill ready for a Fourth of July Bar-B-Q the next day. He heard my motorcycle pull up and so looked out from behind the fence on the side of the shoppe. He opened the place just for me. I don't even recall which item I purchased from him that day, but I will never forget his kindness. I hope he is performing at the great Magic Castle in the sky.

My sincere condolences to his family.

Dean was an incredible magician and mentored me for countless hours, not just in magic but in life. He was truly my best friend in our little community of performers, and things won't be the same without afternoons in his shop. The Magic Castle is great but Dean's Shoppe was like the green room for world class magicians, where everyone could talk freely, jam magic and learn from each other. I never felt as inspired about performing as I did when I was in Dean's company, and while I know he's watching me from above and I'll be in his company again one day, I sure do miss him.

Reluctantly, I never had the privilege of knowing Dean, but I own many of his creations and we have corresponded. His Magic has touched me as a performer, and he will be missed.

Rest in peace Dean Dill.
