Spookies,
This is a long shot: Are there any Saint Louis bizarrists or high functioning kooks that would be willing to make a trip to Bellefontaine Cemetery in Saint Louis City and do a rubbing of a doctor's headstone for me? There may be some risk. He was a nasty fellow in his day. This goes above and beyond Magicians Helping Magicians. You will be celebrated in song (by me, anyway) and I would gladly reimburse you for your time. Many thanks, Perkins

Not me. Not for a million dollars. Last time I rubbed a tombstone for a client a dead genie popped out of the grave and offered me three death wishes. Like to never have gotten him back in the coffin. You may have read about it in the news. The tombstone was for a person known as 'Jack' and the headlines read: Jack back in the Box!

No bites in spooky yet. I may have to leave the protective light of the circle and walk in unholy lands. Craig has a list out there somewhere...
Yitzhak, I would love to tell you about it when I get farther along with my research. I've bumped into a strange corner of history.

Should be interesting - you never know who you will bump into there! Especially the ones who are willing t go into a graveyard and do a gravestone rubbing.

This sounds really spooky. Makes me want to go to the cemetery and rub gravestones. Rub not rob.
If I were to agree with you. Then we would both be wrong. As of Apr 5, 2015 10:26 pm I have 880 posts. Used to have over 1,000

You know what? It's a hell of a lot more spooky out there on 'the list' than it is in here.
Over twenty responses within 10 hours. I replied to three. Lots of folks eager to help with varied motivations, as you can imagine. In the end I think my emissary is a shut eye who 'knows his way around' the cemetery in question. I've taken a crash course on the subject and found it to have a healthy and active following. Lots of genealogists. I found several solid resources and online art suppliers if this is something that interests you. For a historical character who will dominate a portion of the evening's story telling, what better reveal than to have a member of the audience correctly choose the envelope that contains this artwork? This is the idea.
