Sometimes I like to put on the earplugs/ipod and just practice away.
So.....here's a Street Coins to Glass. I usually talk incessantly when performing however I put on the music & just let it roll. At least I had fun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bdYAmJJZ0Y Enjoy, Max T. Oz |

Would you get the same reactions if you didn't use a clear glass?
|

Hi Nick, really good question. One that I also thought about as I usually have a set of cups & balls with me and to use one of my copper cups would mean one less prop to lug around.
However for me, I have found (and believe) the clear glass adds a visual effect along with the noise. But again, this is just me and I know of others that have used a jumbo copper cup and they seem happy with it. Anyone else using opaque cups, please chime in. I use larger coins (bigger than a silver dollar) so it is easy to see them drop into the glass. And the audience can see plainly there is only one or two coins in the glass. So to answer the question, IMHO the clear glass works better and gets a better reaction. Hope you're doing well:-) Max |

Cool, so you clearly (pun) gave thought time to it. I would say clear is the way to go as well, but when I saw the tennis ball I wondered if clear was the best option, I thought, if the tennis ball surprised them with a clear cup would it get a stronger reaction with a non clear cup? but sounds like you think about it and that's all that matters.

Very good. I enjoyed it like a laymen. It would be nice to let this be Max. T. Oz routine and if he chooses to publish it, then we can use it. I hope no one copies it. The routine is what I like and of course your moves are wonderful. So kudos to you.

Max, What a wonderfully thought out coin routine. I have been a lover of coin magic for over 50 years. Great selection of sleights & I love the use of larger silver coins. Kudos!

Wow! thanks lads for kind words. I've always felt/found that coins to glass is such nice trick for the 'Streets'. Visual, audible, standing, simple to understand, etc. Perhaps the only weakness is the need of a table (perhaps someone will/has figured out a tableless version?)
So many variations technically. Entertainment wise, I found the trick is to find something very funny to say with each coin. As a sidenote, I never really do the ball at the end. I just thru it in there mostly for my entertainment lol. If anyone else here does a 'Coins to Glass', please chime in. I luv seeing/hearing other persons take & it's variations on this classic Max |

I like to do Vernon's Kangaroo Coins when I'm seated, but that doesn't really translate well to the Street. It's a lot of fun though and plays well for me.
