Okay, let's move on. It was the last verse from Wicked Messenger.

Let's try this one.

The clock on the wall's moving slower
My heart it sinks to the ground
And the storm that I thought would blow over
Clouds the light of the love that I found

Led Zeppelin, Fool in the Rain. That one just sang itself for me Smile

One day up near Salinas, Lord, I let him slip away,
He's looking for that home and I hope he finds it,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.--Yeats

Me and Bobby Magee - I believe it was written by Kris Kristofferson, made famous by Janis Joplin.

Fightin', killin', wine and women, gonna put me to my grave
Runnin', hidin', losin', cryin', nothing left to save
But my life

Ewww. Such misogyny. I'm pleased that I don't know this one.

Well, I looked it up.

Some bands I just didn't listen to. This is one.

The lyrics have been up for a day. How long before you just give up and post lyrics from a more popular band? I suggest that 24 hours sounds about right.

OK. I didn't think "Stealin" by Uriah Heep would be such a stumper

Here's something more mainstream

Well the crowd cleared away
And I began to pray
As the water fell on the floor.
And I'm telling you son,
Well, it ain't no fun
Staring straight down a forty-four.

Love Me, Tesla

It's amazing how much better the song sounds than it looks as written. Proof that rock is mostly attitude. Smile

Yes, I'm a sack of broken eggs
I always have an unmade bed
Don't you?

Been listening to the Stones a lot lately, love this song. Monkey Man - Rolling Stones

I cry out for magic
I feel it dancing in the light
It was cold, lost my hold
To the shadows of the night

Dio, Rainbow in the Dark. Smile

Come down with fire
Lift my spirit higher
Someone's screaming my name
Come and make me holy again

Nice. Man on the Silver Mountain - Rainbow

I've been feelin' so sick and tired
Got to get better lord before I die
Seven doctors couldn't help my head, they said
You better quit son before your dead

This should give it away.

Southern rock band still around today that lost three members at the peak of their success in the 70s.

Thirty days, lord and thirty nights
I'm comin' home on an airplane flight
Mama waitin' at the ticket line
Tell me son why do you stand there cryin'

It was the ****** and the *****
And a trip to the moon
Took me away, took me away

I've been feelin' so sick and tired
Got to get better lord before I die
Seven doctors couldn't help my head, they said
You better quit son before your dead
