Turning Japanese - The Vapors
So many people have come and gone Their faces fade as the years go by Yet I still recall as I wander on As clear as the sun in the summer sky |

I see that I speak a different rock dialect than the 90s kids on board.
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity.--Yeats |

I will post the answer later today...I didn't think it would be difficult to guess this hard rock band from the late 80's to early 90's (hint)

Guns n' Roses Rocket Queen from Appetite for Destruction, I love the Slash' wahwah abuse during the solos...

Dirty Water by the Standells
No one tried to say a thing When they carried him out in jest Except of course, the little neighbor boy Who carried him to rest |

Oh come on. No one can get this?
The next four lines are: And he just walked along, alone With his guilt so well concealed And muttered underneath his breath “Nothing is revealed” |

You guys are losing me! Never heard of the Standells. And have no idea what song you're quoting, Opus.

I am pretty sure you do, Arthur. It is Bob Dylan's Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest.
And on the Standells, as far as I know, they were one-hit wonders with "Dirty Water" (Well, I love that dirty water, Ooow, Boston you're my home), but Dirty Water has been covered by a lot of bands in the Northeast. (It was almost as popular regionallt as "Louie, Louie.") |

You got me there, Opus! But in fairness I stopped listening to Dylan before he released that album.
What else you got for us? |

And I just can't believe They've all faded out of view, yeah yeah yeah Doowop dooby doo doowop, doowah doolang Blue days, black nights, doowah doolang [I just love the doowops -- 0pus] |

Two days, no guesses. Here are the lyrics through the end:
I look into the sky, the love you need ain't gonna see you through, And I wonder why, the little things you planned ain't comin' true. Oh, oh, telephone line, give me some time, I'm living in twilight. Oh, oh, telephone line, give me some time, I'm living in twilight. OK. So no one's answering, Well, can't you just let it ring a little longer, Longer, longer oh, I'll just sit tight, Through shadows of the night let it ring forever more, oh, hoh hoh hoh. Doowop dooby doo doowop, doowah doolang Blue days, black nights, doowah doolang I look into the sky, the love you need ain't gonna see you through, And I wonder why, the little things you planned ain't comin' true. Oh, oh, telephone line, give me some time, I'm living in twilight. Oh, oh, telephone line, give me some time, I'm living in twilight. |

Hint: It was a tribute song about one of the greatest rock guitarists of the early 80's who died tragically in a plane crash.
Bonus points if you name the guitarist.

I'm guessing you mean Randy Rhoads from Ozzie's band, but I can't think of the song title.
