We're stuck?
Ok Neil Young - Old Man I was born with a plastic spoon in my mouth The north side of my town faced east, and the east was facing south And now you dare to look me in the eye Those crocodile tears are what you cry It's a genuine problem, you won't try To work it out at all you just pass it by, pass it by |

"You got me trapped woman, up on the second floor; If I get by this time, I won't be trapped no more. So raise your window, and I can ease out soft and slow. And lord, your neighbors, no they won't be Talking that stuff that they don't know." |

They did all their greatest hits and it sounded like the album. They did Zepplin for their encore and blew it out of the park. BTW if you like female Zepplin bands, check this out! |

Thanks for sharing that, Daryl! Great band. And you gotta love a hard-hitting female drummer!
BTW you've stumped me again on the lyrics. The crazy things is, most of the time when the answers are revealed, it's an "I knew that!" moment. But reading them out of context can be really tricky. |

I was wondering if this one was a little obscure. The song wasn't mainstream but the album sure was. It's "My Wife" off the "Who's Next" Album by The Who.
How about this... So if you wake up with the sunrise, and all your dreams are still as new, And happiness is what you need so bad, girl, the answer lies with you. |

As soon as I read the answer, the rhythm jumped into my head and I heard the song. I'm continually surprised by the thread. (And this, by the way, is why the less famous songs are way way harder than the top tens.)

Magnus has hit the nail on the head!
When you see a written lyric like: "In the eyes of the world ..." it can really throw you, because we don't know where the line starts rhythmically. The words "In the ..." could be a pick-up, so that the word "eyes" lands on a downbeat. Or there could be an eighth-note pause on beat one, followed by the phrase "In the eyes of the world..." as a subsequent 8-th note melodic phrase. And so many other variables. So the lack of rhythm is a key element in causing our confusion. Unless, of course, one knows a particular song backwards from years of listening and enjoyment. |
