"But your father refused to sign the forms to freeze you
Let's see you'd be about 60 now,
and long dead by the time I return to Earth
My time held dreams were full of you,"

new song to keep the game going.

Curious image, but I'm very certain I've never heard a word of this song before. Was it a hit?
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.--Yeats

I suspect a regionally-popular but otherwise obscure rock group -- kind of like Rush in Canada. Smile

Back in my day the Canadian radio stations were forced to provide a certain % of Canadian artists. Not sure if that's changed or not?

I don't know if this is any easier. I just like obscure music.

Come on. Safety Dance has garnered Men Without Hats a well-earned place in the "One Hit Wonder" pantheon. And how could you not love the name of the group?

Ian, that's 2 you had to answer yourself. I suggest something a little more main stream. lol

I know it isn't my turn but here's an easy one.

All you touch and all you see
is all your life will ever be.

Pink Floyd. Time.

So don't yield to the fortunes
You sometimes see as fate.
It may have a new perspective
On a different date.
And if you don't give up, and don't give in
You may just be O.K.
If you need fear to enforce your beliefs, then your beliefs are worthless.

I agree ... There are all kinds of groups that are extremely entertaining that will NEVER get the nod from the record labels....
My philosophy on hit tunes ... You have your entire career to write your first hit song ... you have one year to write the second one ...or it's pretty much over ... Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile

Since Ian isn't posting, I'll jump in. Famous song, lots of radio play, but do you know the lyrics?

Oh, father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face, along the straits of fear
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.--Yeats
