I am looking to do a routine based on the biblical narrative of the ten plagues. I'm trying to come up with ideas on how to present this and which props or gimmicks I may need. Ideas I have so far:
Blood- Mirror glass to turn water to blood and back again Frogs- Sponge frogs, make them appear then mutiply then disappear again. Possibly use the silk to frog to make the first frog appear. Any other ideas? Would be grateful for patter or presentation ideas or other ideas with regards to props/gimmicks that might be helpful for these two plagues or any of the subsequent ones. Thanks in advance! |

If you think a little further you will find that this is a bad idea. My advice is that you forget about it. Or perhaps you will illustrate the death of every first born with Sword thru neck?

Can't think of the ten plagues without thinking of Barry and Stuart's take on this theme with live frogs. I hope you're a little kinder to your volunteers.

Dice, I like the idea but the ten plagues have such a negative connotation. What do you do with boils? Maybe hypnosis?

The most logical presentation for the Ten Plagues would be the Siberian chain escape. You tell how the Jews lived in bondage and how Moses told Pharaoh to let his people go.
Pharaoh of course refuses. So God sends the plagues to Egypt. You then describe each plague. After which you show you are still bound by the chains. After you tell of the last plague you show that you've broken your bonds and are now free. Properly scripted and with the right music it could be a very dramatic piece.
