Can anyone help me what the name of this trick is?
It's one of those cheapo tricks I had years ago. You show a quarter and have the spectator sign it. You vanish the coin. Then you bring out a box (similar to a matchbox but a little bigger and higher) with 2 rubberbands around it sealing it shut. The spectator removes the rubberbands and opens the box only to find a smaller box inside with 2 rubberbands around it sealing it shut. The spectator removes the rubberbands and opens the box only to find a smaller box inside with 2 rubberbands around it sealing it shut. The spectator removes the rubberbands and opens the box and inside is a little plastic pouch. The signed coin is inside the pouch. Thanks for any help, Tom |

Adams Magic wholesaler use to sell the Jiffy Coin Trick which was 2 metal tin disk covered in rubber bands with a bag in the middle.
You can buy it here: http://www.houdini.com/en/money-magic/20......ick.html I can't remember the old name of the matchbox version, but Loftus Magic makes a nice version: https://www.loftus.com/item/LF-0560 They are also only wholesalers, so you will have to find it a magic store or website. The problem is that the low cost magic is not worth listing to many dealers. Our local magic store carries this matchbox version, they simply call it Magic Match Boxes, you can purchase it here: http://funnygoofycrap.com/product/magic-match-boxes/ |

Yep. Lots of different versions of that in magic shops and the occasional toy shop. When I was a wee bairn I owned the metal disks one Bill mentions. The pocket hook with that one was particularly clever. Just taking it out of your pocket accomplished the effect.

Adams (now Magic Makers) still offers it, although now it has a silly rabbit design on it:
http://www.magicmakersinc.com/p-547-magi......ams.aspx I agree with Bill, the Loftus version is better. I still have my vintage Adams box from the '70s. It's a plain white box. The effect is pretty powerful. And, what you are really paying for with this prop is the gimmick. So if you purchase any one of the versions, you can make up the boxes, or whatever containers you like for yourself. This is a real classic, and under-used, probably due to its age and appearance in a lot of magic sets and magicians shying away from it.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

I had the version with the matchbox many many many years ago. As well as the metal disk version. "Jiffy Coin Trick"
Nick Einhorn's Nest of Wallets is a modernized version. Instead of finding the coin in a nest of disks, it is in a nest of wallets and then in a cloth. Comes with a DVD and routine.

I always prefered the coin in yarn version.
You can make the gimmick real easy with brass plate that you can get at any hobby/craft store. Randi |
