A money-saving plan to heat a swimming pools with energy from the cremation of dead bodies has been backed by our senior Government ministers already.
They are not fattening up the people for nothing.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Comeon tommy. You've been here long enough to know how to embed a video.
All it takes is a youtube surrounded by brackets, then the string after the watch?v= in the link, followed by a /youtube surrounded by brackets. Then you get the video without having to watch the commercial! |

I don't know exactly when, but anyone paying attention has to notice that oil is getting harder to find and pump out. Wells have to be treated to get the last dregs out and we're fracking the ground causing damage to areas around the fracking site (unless you work for the oil companies, don't try to deny that there has been major ecological damage from fracking). It feels like we're scrapeing the bottom of the peanut butter jar now. I can't imagine it getting any easier.

Thanks. I don't think I will survive the collapse.

As I'm almost 60 years old, I doubt if I'll see the collapse. My grand children might and my great grand children almost certainly will see the beginnings of it. (At this moment in time, I have neither grand children nor great grand children, but I have children and there are always the possiblities.)

What I will remind you is the difference in technology between now and when your quotes were written. We now have sonar and other such devices that can give us a pretty fair estimate of where the oil is and how much is there. The days of drill an hope are gone, replaced by educated guesses and straight out scietific evidence of where the oil is. Will we find new tech to get us more? Probably, but the supply is not infaniate no matter how you look at it.

Agreed! And if He meant for us to be clothed, we would have been born wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
If He meant for us to be fed, we would have been born with a grilled turkey leg in our hands. If He meant for us to have shelter, we would have been born with a property deed. If He meant for us .... well, complete the next few on you own. I think they are all quite reasonable, and I personally feel guilty that I have been taking advantage of the circumstances provided me that the good Lord obviously did not intend for me to have. |

Regardless, I have no doubt that at every point, where a prediction was made of the end of oil, those making the prediction believed that the technology they were using to make the prediction was the latest and best technology and that because of that, this latest prediction was correct while previous predictions were wrong because of their old technology. |
