I read through everything and have absolutely no idea what is being discussed here haha. I just hope new magicians don't stumble upon this lest they think we veteran magicians are a bunch of psychos Smile

I'm certainly sorry so many trolls have diverted the focus of this thread to their own purposes, but rest assured, that the real history of the Houdini's and their fortune is being revealed.
The failure of this movie was one small nail in the coffin of one of the largest brands in American history. Smile

No reason to be confused. It's an interesting time line as the Houdini Fortune dwindles down to next to nothing. Many people profited off of Houdini's death and in actuality it wasn't the Spiritualists ....It was the Magicians!!!!!
They Still perform fake seances all the time. Smile Smile Smile

Exactly!!! A real seance has a medium and a spirit guide. Not two magicians writing a script that they think is spooky and entertaining ....

But your closed mindedness is showing full tilt ...

IT CAN'T BE REAL BECAUSE DANNY SAYS IT CAN'T BE REAL ..

You make me laugh Danny... Expressing an extremely closed mind doesn't work in a logical world. Smile

But no hard feeling's .. At least you are trying....

I don't see what the problem is.

Either a person believes in communication with the dead, or they don't.

Why not just say it either way?
If you need fear to enforce your beliefs, then your beliefs are worthless.

Well, quite honestly, many people don't know for sure. Even Harry Houdini didn't claim to know for sure. That's why he set up the Houdini Code as revealed by Arthur Ford in 1929.

Harry and Bess wanted to know!

That falls under the rubric of "they don't (believe)."

Not believing something is true is far different from believing that it is false.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle fooled Houdini and the magicians of course with the magic of advanced technology of the theatre. None of them idiot magicians was able to explain how dinosaurs had been captured on film.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

No need apologize.

If they don't know for sure, they don't believe.

I should have said that more clearly.

You magicians are really out of your depth in this argument. Sadly, you all seem to be the only ones who don't realize that.

They either believe, or else they don't.

There's no (mutually exclusive) third choice.

(Disclaimer: I'm invoking Aristotelian logic here, which I suspect (i.e., believe) is the basis for the arguments of most, if not all, of the other posters here. If you do not believe in Aristotelian logic, then you may argue that there is a mutually exclusive third choice; however, in that case your attempt to make an argument with the others here is pointless.)

So that's what I've been doing wrong.

Thanks Bill. I can always count on you to clarify things.
Except when you don't. Smile
