Save the best for last dealing with the Chair Suspension. Don't get me wrong. I am not saying use it for a finale. I had Mak Magic Chair Suspension for many years. The routine is like most other Chair Suspension routines. First a chair is removed. Lastly, the board is removed.
I have now been using the Mephisto Version for the last several years. First the board is removed. Lastly, a chair is removed. It shows more suspense in that manner because it seems as more magic is happening. With no board underneath the individual because it is already taken away. The individuals have strong thoughts the chairs are keeping the volunteer up. But when one is removed it opens a lot more weight on the mystery. Check it out at 2:23 When the chair is removed first the audience is already thing the magic has already happened and it is in the board. When the board is removed, there is little suspense because most of the magic has already happened. Is the Mephisto Version the only Chair Suspension where the chair can be pulled away last? |

Nice music
Yes, Both of my suspensions allow you to remove the board first.... if you want to. You can aslo do the Hanging Board presentation where you remove one chair and the board "stays up" by itself.

Jay, I never knew you built two of them until now. The small one you made is the new one to me. When I watched your video I noticed it is the smallest I ever seen for suspending a kid. http://thehouseofenchantment.com/pages/M......ion.html
Very creative. |

Jay, I just finished purchasing a second theme song from Arthur. It is for my clown show.

The first chair suspension I saw was , aged 10, in Dublin and performed by Johnny Hoffman. Johnny toured with a fair/carnival and did his shows in his own tent.
As it was the first chair suspension I had seen, I just assumed it was the normal way magicians did it. The seats of the chairs were facing away from each other. The girl - his assistant - lay on the board and one chair removed. Then the second chair was removed and she lay there suspended. The seats of the chairs were now placed facing each other and the board floated down so it reseted on the seat. He clapped his hands and the girl arose from her trance. For years after I couldn't understand why magicians only removed one chair, until I discovered that you needed your own stage for it to work as Johnny did it. |

What I loved about your video is how much fun (you) are having. I have so much fun that I actually feel like I should be paying the client, instead of them paying me.
