I don't know. To tell you the truth I just saw Placebo on youtube. And couldn't found any info about it here. So I made this thread.

This is not kopykat from dvs. it does not use DVS in any way. this download has two methods, one original to me another is a marlo version that I explain so that you can do the effect while you practice my original method.
if you have any questions please let me know Mark Calabrese |

This effect is very clean... any card can be named. Mark explains 2 methods the first one is very clean and everything happens in the spectator hands, but
IMO I don't believe that it will work very well... There is something bold that the spectator performs that I don't like. I like the second method. The performer reveals the spectator's card. It happens in a very clean way. I believe using a gimmick even the second method could be performed directly by the spectator totally. My conclusion: I am not so sure that this method is new, anyway it is a good impromptu effect. |

I see nothing new here at all.
Maybe I'm wrong, but from the trailer, there are multiple methods that have been around for a long time that can do the same effect. |

I love these type of effects where the spec does the work. Good thinking Mark. I love the way the joker goes flying across the room, lol.

Thank you entermagic for your review and answer.
Yes pegasus. I also like how the joker flies From the way it looks, this routine have everything that I like in card magic. Clean, simple, impromptu, happens in the spec hands and can even use a borrowed deck. All right, I'm sold. |

I and no control as to which version is demoed on the trailer, since I didn't edit it, but the 2nd version, which I am most proud of looks just as good, but the deck is truly clean AND the spectator can spread the deck. there is only one card face down and there is nothing to flash. I teach the other version (the one you see) so that you can do the effect until you're comfortable doing the original method that I teach. |

I do the same routine based on a modifikation of the effect by Dan Paulus just with a single deck an a little something so the spectator can spread the deck
