I've just started using this app as well as Magic Web FX and all I can say is WOW WOW WOW!
I tend to not like using technology for mentalism, but I'll need to make an exception for this. |

I have a few magic apps myself and I am very fussy when it comes on these types of routines.
This app is epic on so many levels. If your on the fence just buy it., it's cheap for what it does. It's just amazing.

Excellent app, it does exactly what it says, add to that the excellent Marc's customer service and you have a winner
Many options to input the info, and great reactions from the audience, everything happens in their phone, and the volume up reveal is really nice Great job, I highly recommend it |

Unless this is something that is specific to the Hi-Phone...I am still holding my breath that we will see this on Android. I think you are missing a huge market

New update is ON! And it's AWESOME! Marc added one more solo input method, that's amazing in so many different ways, IMO. Not only the method-- it's customizable to fit your need and this method can give you time. And as you already know that, "time is priceless". Really like this update. Earworm is an app with numbers of amazing input methods and can be customized to fit with your style.

The new input method is STUNNING. Nice to see a developer initially charging a sensible price and then updating them all the time at no extra cost.

I've had this app for a while now, and it's nothing short of genius. I only use the methods without an accomplice, and with the recent update there's yet another input method that I think I'll be using all the time now. I highly recommend this, in my opinion it's a must have for any magicians with an iPhone. Quite possible too cheap so buy it!
I only feel comfortable performing this on a borrowed iPhone. Apparently some other devices work, but I've tested it and haven't found anything that works other than apple products (iPods and iPads work too) Maybe a smartwatch peek in the future?👍🏼 |

I think this is a spectacular effect, and really fries people when it goes off without a hitch. One wrinkle: when using YouTube, which is the only one you can really be sure will work on a random phone, the video selected will not-infrequently be removed or blocked for copyright reasons, which shows them you predicted correctly but is a bit anticlimactic. You also need to pad out your patter before the reveal for long enough to get through any preload ads, since it's also rather anticlimactic to have them turn up the volume and hear a commercial (even if, again, they can then see you chose correctly). Which is easy enough, since you can make some remark about the song if you know it, and if you don't make some joke about your own pop-culture ignorance or their obscure taste. Most importantly, I'd suggest people plan on using an accomplice if they want it to really fool. You can recruit one on the spot, which is actually half the fun of performing it for me.
The solo method that allows your phone to remain out of sight is, in my experience thus far, not really reliable enough to rely on live under non-ideal performance conditions. A suggestion to the app maker: If there were a way to "trigger" this method with a tap anywhere on the screen (i.e. while in your pocket), it would become significantly more viable. The native iOS functionality relied on shuts itself off after a relatively short time, and must be activated by hitting a teensy-weensy little key, which in practice means you really need your phone out *immediately* before performing. Ideally, having the phone "out of play" would mean the spectators never see you touch it. If instead it could be triggered by tapping anywhere on the screen, I could see this becoming my default method, with a little bit of extra preparation to minimize interference from ambient noise. (Not needing to display the phone would also make the necessary "preparation" much more practical.) Finally, while the methods that leave your phone in play are extremely clever, the reality with tech savvy spectators — most of my acquaintances, given my line of work — is that if they see you handle your phone at all, they're going to assume you're somehow covertly covertly entering the selection, regardless of what they see on the screen. Despite the limitations—again, the accomplice methods are currently the only ones I'd rely on in performance—this one routinely blows minds quite effectively. |
