I am interested in the effect presented by Blake Vogt in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8qhmCElLTU

Does anyone know what it's called and where I can learn about it (if anywhere)? (Has it been performed using coins/bills?) Thanks in advance.

I looks like a very lucky ambiguïté.

This trick is by the great French performer Christophe Ambre, and is called "Mon petit connard". A similar effect can be done with bills and coins, as Ambre discussed in his manuscript "l'enquête fou".

Christophe!? Lol.

This was I believe a creation of Jo$h Jay but with slight modifications in presentation and the gimmick used. I think.

Search for past trick of the year threads.

Absolutely correct, originally by Joshua Jay, I taugt this trick Christophe Ambre while attending mindvention and he worked out a handling without matches as he was burning constantly his fingers (he is French who normally burns his tongue, but Christophe is exceptional) and ever since he presents his version all over the world, or where he comes to (it is less). I guess other performers who saw his version got inspired then... Jan

Thanks. Is the only Joshua Jay effect in question his "Inferno"? Or is there another version of this that he's put out?

Gimmick? Are you serious? This effect needs no gimmick. I'm confused.

Actually, Jan, I knew a different story. I thought this effect came directly from Hurling Bull which called it the VOLTAIRE MIND and then a lot of people lost track of it until Dr.Crow rediscovered that gem and improved it adding the SIDEWAYS DUNLOP Principle to it.

It escapes me how you or Christophe have been able to put your hands on that rare effect but I love the way Christophe performs it. He is really the best!

Seriously, Alexander, why don't you go with the great predecessor of this one?

Get SCORCH from the multi-talented Gregory Arce.

... If only Greg had sold that idea as stand-alone, maybe with a matchbox and an added "paperclip" ... Smile

Thanks. Unfortunately, all sources seem to be "out of stock".

PM to Greg Arce. He's a member here as well as a fine gentleman.

He'll find a way, for sure.
