To the best of my knowledge, neither one of these guys has posted here in a long time.
I hope they haven't left the MAGIC Café for good. Gerry |

Facebook!
I saw a post from Kyle less than I week ago, but really Gerry, Facebook seems to be where its at today. There are some really good groups I'm in that have some good information from top pros. For example, in one my groups Paul Daniels has been very active, and had been sharing many stories with us. For all I know Gerry, I could already be a facebook friend of yours!

Ken - that is interesting, as I have not been aware of such groups.
I did see Kyle post here earlier in the month, but it seems it had been a while. James seems as though he came in once in a while, mostly in response to questions about his offerings. It does seem like people who used to post more regularly seem to have bounced, but that might be just how these type of forums evolve as people's lives take twists and turns. |

Didn't James get his forum running again? If so, he could be posting regularly there.

Yes, James has a facebook group and there are others, and I've been more active on those. But they tend to talk about all kind of non-magic stuff like religion and politic, etc, which I like. I can only talk about the best brand of spongeballs so much.

Facebook search:
Marketing for Entertainers BWIW (Because I’m Worth It) Magic Bistro SME Talk Magic I would include the Jolly Jammers but as you’ve heard there is a waiting list.

Correction: That should be BIWI above.
BTW If you buy a copy of Roger's book, "The Spiritual Stage" and come to prepared to discuss it I'm sure it will go a long way into group entry. http://www.amazon.com/The-Spiritual-Stag......02547945

I am a bit surprised, as James always seemed a bit cool to Facebook.

Starrpower,
I despise FaceBook. It is an awful place. But it is where everyone goes these days. So I have moved the Magic Bistro forum to a FaceBook group. However, I do prefer the traditional forum format of the Magic Café. It is much easier to search for things here. I don't know why I haven't posted here for a while. I suppose I lost the urge to give my opinion on things! And I also got fed up arguing with people! I very rarely argue with anyone these days and it is rather nice! Roger's Jolly Jammers group is excellent. There is a lot of discussion about religion and politics and spirituality. I think the Magic Bistro forum complements the Jolly Jammers. We only talk about magic and performance there. There is no waiting list to join the Magic Bistro and I do believe you have a better chance of being accepted into the Jolly Jammers if you actively participate in the Magic Bistro first. One of the things that irritates Roger and me are people who join magic groups and then never have anything to say. Best, James |

Hi Gerry,
I LOVE Texas. I can't really explain why. It must be the people... And the weather... And the food... And the low cost of living! Best, James |

I just don't understand why someone would join an active group just to lurk and not participate. It makes no sense to me.........but maybe I am missing something. JR

I start out by loading the illusions that will be needed for the shows and take off to have breakfast and perform the shows I have booked that day; by the time I am finished performing, have dinner and return home and unload my truck, return emails and bid requests, I'm too tired to sign on and actively participate in a forum; It is necessary for my wellbeing to relax, rest and plan for the next days bookings. I do sometimes sign on to the Café and look at what my friends have posted and scan the sales and trade forum, but I do not have enough energy to concentrate on posting Does my explanation makes sense to you? |
