My son and his wife moved on to their own place from living in our addition. One daughter is at work and the other is having stomach issues at the moment and doesn't feel like eating. My wife is... my wife and doesn't feel like eating and is on her way out to a function.
So... I have a mountain of homemade, baked, garlic and Parmesan fries that I made along with 6 juicy, delicious hamburgers and it's all just sitting here. This happens more and more as the kids get older and have full social calendars, etc. It's getting pretty difficult to judge how much food to make. So who's coming over for a burger? I'll have it ready just how you like it. I like mine with lettuce, tomato, red onion, mustard, ketchup, mayo and A1. At least, that's how I liked it tonight. With a side of pickles. Tell me how you like you home cooked burger. I can also serve you some fresh mint sweet tea and after dinner a cup of gourmet coffee with a slice of fruit pie a la mode; if you wish. Do you like fruit pies? We have blueberry because that's what my daughter and I could compromise on last night. I'm not a real fan of cherry. I prefer apple or peach.

Theo, thanks ... I'll have mine with everything on it ... as long as it's a veggie burger!

You got it Arthur. Maybe we can play a little acoustic guitar after dinner.

Another veggie burger for me. I like it with everything you can put on it.
I'll bring my banjo. No Kumbaya for me, either. But maybe I'll do my banjo version of "Voodoo Chile, Slight Return" for you. (I think it was Magnus who asked for a video or recording of my version, but I'm too afraid to go public with it. I have performed it live, but that's not the same thing as posting a video to the Interworld.) |

One of my favorite Hendrix songs!
"Torture doesn't work" lol
Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |

I want one of them juicy hamburgers with the fries! I'll bring a bottle of Gentleman Jack's! I can sing off key while y'all jam on the gi-tars! I'm a foodie to my death!
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

Kumbaya? lol- you guys are hilarious.
It would be interesting to see what we could come up with in an improv jam. Couple guitars, a banjo and some veggie burgers. Pie. Nary a political thread in sight. Stone- you've got to let us hear this! Speaking of banjo, did you ever see those vids I shared of Rob Scallon playing Slayer on the banjo? He's pretty funny, but also got some talent. (btw- I bet Jimi could have made even Kumbaya sound cool.) Here's Rob: And uh... here's the original for comparison's sake. It sure and the heck isn't Kumbaya. (Trust me, I understand it if you hate this music. I'm no longer fond of the negative message behind it, although I do like metal; along with a vast assortment of other styles of music. But that Rob Scallon can shred a banjo.) Edit- so I looked up some other versions of Voodoo Chile on banjo on Youtube. I'm not gonna share them here, I want to hear your version! We're waiting. Theodore-

My dad likes bourbon so I did some research and got him some for Christmas. It got really high marks in all the reviews I read and it's only like 25 bucks per bottle. Check it out, I'm not even much of a drinker and I tried it. Lots of flavors in a sip. It's excellent.
