I'm guilty of this if I find something good on Netflix. I'll watch as many seasons as are available if it hooks me.
My latest indulgence was Daredevil. Man! Whoever writes that show needs a raise and some awards. I don't think I've ever seen such great character development in a bad guy. You really get to see where the villain comes from and you can almost sympathize with him. It's like you can see this fine line between insanity and genius. Okay, it's only a show, but it's really terrific writing. Very interesting hero too; a blind dude. I can't wait to see where they develop the characters next season. There are a couple of real stunning moments in the season too. I won't spoil it, but if you've seen it we can pm. How about you? Are you guilty of binge watching?

Michael- If I could afford that Okito set I would make myself binge watch it even if I didn't enjoy it! lol
Clinton- My daughter loves Downton Abbey and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, I haven't taken the plunge yet. I do like Marvel though so I may have to give Agents a go.

Binge watch?
Yes, far too many shows I'm afraid.
If you need fear to enforce your beliefs, then your beliefs are worthless.

Another one is Triple "d" on food network, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. They just added a second compilation of 25 episodes to Netflix and I watched them all in about 2 or 3 days. I can't seem to get enough of watching delicious looking food that I can't have. We have taken trips before where we will look and see if there are places from the show where we happen to be going; we've had some good eats doing that.

Doctor Who, whenever I get the chance, which isn't very often. I'm trying to get through Matt Smith's run as the Doctor and get into Peter Capaldi.

I'm not guilty of binge watching anything on TV. I am guilty (and feel guilty when I don't) of binge watching my kids play sports and being in their presence when they are playing together. Watching them is the most satisfying and best entertainment I could possibly ask for!

"Breaking Bad" Waited till the end of the series then watched them all in succession. We did the same thing with "Boardwalk Empire".
My wife finally started watching "Game of Thrones". I watched all the episodes with her and kept her on track with all the characters. Now she is hooked. |

Nice. I've got some new suggestions to try out.
This works out well with my surgery Friday! Unless RNK can bring his kids over and I can watch them run around.

Daredevil also.
Have started watching Breaking Bad over again from start to end. Will probably binge watch Walking Dead and Justified sometime in the future. I just recently hooked up with Netflix so I can see adding several shows on the list to binge watch. (By binge watch, I'm thinking an episode or 2 a day, not 8-10 hours straight! LOL) btw, my wife who is a teacher for the blind has told me that all of her students favorite super hero is Daredevil, although it's a bit sad that this show, as good as it was, is probably a little too adult for many of them. |

I read an article recently that Daredevil isn't a show that is narrated for blind viewers either. I guess many shows offer narration that describes what is happening on screen for the benefit of blind viewers. Viewers? Listeners, sorry. I think they should change that, it wouldn't be too hard.
I also have binged on The Walking Dead. That's right up there with my favorites. And when I say binge watch, I do mean it. Since I work nights I keep odd hours compared to most people and find I often have long stretches of time to fill. When I'm not playing my guitar, cooking, at the gym, or practicing magic I can usually be found sitting on my butt in front of the computer. And I have no friends. And no life. And I really don't mind that actually.

They call these movies 'descriptive movies' and I've watched a few before. I was amazed at how detailed they described everything happening on screen. Some theaters will provide headsets for blind and visually impaired viewers to wear that allow them to listen to the descriptive audio. I think 'blind viewers' is accurate because many individuals who would make use of this service are not totally blind but visually impaired and still 'watch' the movie.
Here's a link with a short news story about the service which includes a few very short examples of descriptive audio. http://www.acb.org/adp/movies.html My wife has often sat next to a student and whispers description to them which can obviously annoy other theater goers. I've tried it also but it's difficult to do a good job and there's no way I could come close to as good a job as is done in the descriptive movies. |

I'm not sure I would classify this as binge watching exactly, but I did watch 'The Fall' (the Gillian Anderson / Jamie Dornan series) over a two week period recently.

Here's to the penultimate binge-watcher, Howard Hughes:
Another time, he became obsessed with the 1968 film Ice Station Zebra and had it running on a continuous loop in his home. According to his aides, he watched it 150 times. I think my son may hold the record though, as I've seen him to watch all 6 seasons of "Lost" in a row.
