I'd like to add an appearing deck to my children's hospital walk around.

Which one has the best angles and portability?

Any ideas for possibly making the deck vanish as well?

I'm looking at Cameron Francis' Flat Pack for the appearance. It's affordable and looks good.

Thanks for any help with this.

I just came across Loaded by Marcus Eddie in my searches. This one looks great too.

I've always liked the look of David Regal's Sudden Deck. Might be worth looking into.

I like Sudden Deck - I use it as a lead in to my Mental Photography Deck.

That said, if you wear a jacket and have the pocket space, keep a deck in the jacket's inner pocket. In the course of your overall routine just reach in looking for something else you need to pull out from there but in the process load it into your sleeve while keeping your arm bent at the elbow. It'll stay there ready for production by simply dropping your arm to your side (with your hand waiting to secretly catch it of course Smile ). Handy for "catching" an invisible deck tossed to you or anything else that calls for a deck production from previously seen empty hands.

If you like a sudden deck, John Vanderput teaches an appearing deck that has a similar feel to sudden deck, but with much cleaner angles and shows before the apearence. It's on his penguin lecture.

Steven and Inigo- I like the look of Sudden Deck, but I am wondering how convenient this would be for strolling through a hospital going room to room. The large envelope kind of turns me off to carrying it around. Any comments in this regard? Thanks.

The envelope isn't necessary, but it's a nice convincer.

Another option is to eschew those types of props altogether and kick it old school. Here's one example: http://www.magicbookreport.com/2012/01/productions/

Those are cool. No flame in the hospital, but I can think about other methods too.

I have the Sudden Deck 3, and indeed: the extra envelope is not really necessary.
If you have the (pocket) space to carry the SD-prop around, you should be fine.

Great tip.
I will totally have to get Sudden Deck 3 (and the disappearing one, I like to litter Smile), now I only have to find a store in Europe that sells it. : |

There are some European sites where you can order the Sudden Deck, from what I've seen, they're usually about 36€.
(Shipping around 8€.)

Btw, SD3 comes with Regal's disappearing deck!

@proximo: Thanks for the tip, that is great news.
Then I will just order them together. Smile

I just noticed there's something called Instant Deck, by Tomas Medina and Alex Lourido - seems to have some good reviews, (and using a handkerchief adds a nice magical touch)
