I have been wanting to learn Kainoa Harbottle's fingertip muscle pass for awhile but wasn't sure I was doing it right, even though I have his Cointopia. So I found a thread on TMC from a few months ago about his video on just that! So I got it last night and started practicing it a lot. Today my thumbnail bed is all sore - kinda like when you accidentally ben a fingernail back. I wondered if this was normal? Or if it meant I was somehow doing it wrong?
Any tips? Thanks! Ken |

Ken,
yes, the same happened to me, when I extensively practiced the Fingertip Muscle Pass. Meanwhile I practice it now and then or use it in performances and I don't have this problem anymore. In other words: The pain will stop after a while. But down practice too much as long as you have a sore thumbnail bed. Nightcrawler |

My advice to anyone working on this move is this. Don't listen to Kainoa*. I think he teaches it wrong which only leads to people causing themselves pain and frustration. He says to push down as hard as you can until your thumb is turning white. Don't do it that way. Start with gentle pushes until you build up strength.
* - on this one small thing. |
