I recently had an idea for a card to impossible location which required some pocket watches being modified and gimmicked. This idea was well beyond my skill set so I set about searching for someone to build this for me.
I frequented Horologist forums looking for someone as well as asking around for magic prop makers to no avail. I then got talking to Todd Landman who immediately recommended J.C Mooreni from www.moorenimagic.com.

For those unaware of J.C's work he specialises in the most beautiful wooden boxes for mentalist/Bizarre uses but also has experience in glass work amongst other things.
After contacting him and sending him rough drawings of what I wanted he said he would take the job on.

Through the process of getting the gimmicks made he kept me in the loop with regular emails as to what stage he was at and exactly what he was doing. After 2-3 weeks he told me it was finished and was winging it's way to me.

When it arrived I was not happy with what I received....I was ecstatic. The craftmanship and attention to detail was mindblowing. Not only were there some amazingly crafted gimmicked pocket watches but a document detailing how it was made eg. cutting a new glass face cover to replace the plastic one and carving an ebony surround for one of the gimmicks.

Part of the effect I designed require the clock mechanism to be removed from the pocket watch casing which I presumed would break the clock but J.C not only managed to remove it intact and working but then built a body to protect it!

And all this for a price which I regard as insanely low.
