In one routine I want to use alphabet cards to reveal a spectators starsign.
Does anyone have an idea what the motivation could be, to use alphabet cards? regards kiki |

*made up term* unconscious shuffling...
they stare at the alphabet cards, spot the ones that spell out personal information, then, whilst saying the word over and over again in their head, they shuffle...and stop when it feels right. ^90% sure its mental magic though...not that THAT should stop you experimenting with different ideas...

"Because for some persons just visualize images is difficult, this makes your work easier and gives you more energy to focus in our mental connection"
That line can be used to motivate any prop (if they need really some direct motivation). Personally, I just do my acts without much care of the props, at the end the feeling should be of a propless experience anyway. Best

I've got a set of alphabet cards designed for children. I always say that I stole them from my god-daughter.
Not exactly a justification, just a silly joke. And while it isn't exactly true... I did find and buy them while I was meant to be looking for a 1st birthday present for my god-daughter... |

Without knowing the routine it's near impossible to give you a valid motivation for using the cards, a good start would be what really motivates you to use the alphabet cards in the routine. Is it because you want to make the reveal more visual? Is it because the method relies on the cards? Is it because you want to use the star sign reveal as a way to get the cards into play for a later effect.
That of course is only the start of it, without knowing your persona and premise it is very difficult to suggest a valid motivation, a psychic may well have a completely different motivation than a body language expert. I would suggest reposting this in inner thoughts and including additional information, at the barest minimum include. Who you are, as in your persona and premise. A description of the effect including any procedure relating to the cards that doesn't expose someone else's method What you are trying to achieve with these cards/this effect. Who is the intended audience, is this for stage, close up, formal or casual etc. Mark |

Ok, that would be better to post it in inner thoughts to get an idea of the routine.
