There tons of product reviews out there with different formats, length, and style.
What are some key information you want to hear/see in a product review? what break the deal about this is a buy or not after reading/watching the reviews? If you are a reviewer, what key information do you think it is a must have in a review? and why? LY |

On a primary level I just want to know if an effect is good. On a secondary level I want to know difficulty, angles, how well built product is, practicality. Mostly though if an effect is great I don't care too much about the rest except for difficulty as I'm happy to have effects that aren't necessarily daily workers.

I like a demo in real time like TNT does and I like hearing the various comparison products that might be alternatives or better earlier versions of a product

I like it for the reviewer to be completely honest about their own performance level/ability..

I think that more and more product reviews are vehicle for promoting material with a business intention, for instance the section Office of Advisement reads as companies or individuals pushing certain products.
Jamie D Grant in that section was the exception to me, with a nice format and educational content, where I did not feel he was pushing a trick. On the specific question, because I am a hobbist and not a performer, I am more interested in the how the trick/prop looks and what is the difficulty level or sleights necessary. I mistakenly bought card tricks that needed a pass or a Faro shuffle, sleights that a performer could need, but I am not willing to invest the time, and I sold back the trick or is sitting in a drawer. |

Thanks for the shoutout, Pabloinus! Magic Friday went from 2005-2013, almost 9 years!! It just takes so much time and effort to do a review show. It's intersting to see some of the old ones, though:

Does the trick live up to the ad? Have they told the truth in their advertising? If not, this can turn me off to future releases by these same producers.
Is it a good trick? How much is it? How difficult is it? What are the angles? How practical is it? How is the reset? How durable is it? Will I need to buy or construct refills/replacements?

First after I like the demo I look for complete performance video, pros and cons with special emphasis on cons and limitations.
