I finally had the opportunity to build one of these.
Here is Steve Valentine opening the AMA awards show with it last week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSR2XRijQGE

That is something new and a little different use of an everyday "isle" rails, "get in line" and "Keep Out" subliminal device. Never heard or seen such a novel idea with something everyone should be familiar with that gets away of the computer and handheld devices on special occasions.
You know what the café members will ask, can it be examined before and after the trick, is backdrop curtains necessary. Is it self working, and can it be done close-up. LOL Looks very visual and no "funny business" at all. Would have like to see the beginning, where it is brought out, or Steve Valentine walks up to the ropes center stage, or does he come out from the center curtains. As is we see he beginning and the penetration, but not the complete beginning and end. Most performers would need to clear the ropes and rails for the rest of their act. How many assistants are needed to smoothly work and be presented. I see he did it "in one" in front of the closed curtains. |

Bill- one man effect, self-contained in one post, no backdrop needed, can be done close-up. Gimmick post cannot be examined. Here is a grainy vid of the start of the effect. Performer comes out, unhooks rope and steps behind. Re hooks rope. Simply stepping forward triggers the action for the penetration.

Even though it can't be examined, I still like it.

Craig, that is awesome! Was this inspired by the effect in the Rand Woodbury book?
Great job, very clean!

Craig, it's a brilliant use of a principle. It was fun to see it in actual use.
