Just wondering,

How many veterans are out there in the Magic Café community?

I'm former Army, 8th Infantry Division.

US Army - 1974-1976. Officially still considered a Vietnam war era veteran despite the Vietnam war having basically ended by then.

Doug,
I spent some time in BK. I was stationed in Wildflecken, Germany in the 80's.

Loved it! There is no place like Germany! Ever been to Bad Muenster?

What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about? Smile

My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums.

My greatest appreciation goes out to all of you who served.

My dad was in the Air Force in WWII and Korea. Although he wasn't near the "front", he still had the stories about losing best friends.

My roommate in flight school was shot down and killed a few months after arriving in Afghanistan. He was only 22 years old. Smile

Sorry to hear about your roommate.

Myself- U.S. Army 1/1 Cav '95-'99. Stationed at Ft. Hood, Tx and Budingen, Germany.

MOS- 68 Juliet, now defunct and supposedly absorbed into other MOSes. We repaired and maintained all the weapons systems for the OH58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter as well as working on the Apache and training on the Cobra. The 4 main systems we dealt with were the Hellfire Missile, the Hydra 70 rocket, the air-mounted .50 Cal and the ATAS, or Air to Air Stinger. We also know how to maintain the 20 and 30 mm cannons. We were the Armament Dawgs that would load up the birds and send them downrange.

If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

My brother (he stayed in 27 years, I left earlier than that) spent time as a recruiter. He later said he would rather go back to Iraq (3 tours, total) than recruit again.
