I have spent several hours looking for a non-plastic wand about 8 to 9". Probably wood with brass tips but will consider anything that isn't plastic.

Most the custom wands with exotic woods and brass fittings are very expensive. Most wands for close up are 12", and 14" for stand up. There are smaller wands over the years made available in that unscrew in the middle. Again, these are expensive, and usually do not do any tricks in themselves.

There are many members here on the Café that make wands, just look in the "workshop" topic where they display their skill.

Here is an example of a Colin Rose Wand from England:

Why not just go buy a wood dowel and sand it, then stain and varnish it. They even have stain and varnish all in one these days. Brass tubes can be purchased at hardware stores or craft stores. Just cut off a piece, polish it and slide it on.
