Would like to see a performance in front of lay people, not Jay in his studio or home. Until then will pass.

That is pretty much the only place Jay performs all of his effects, on camera for the viewer from one angle. With the exception of his restaurant DVD, other than that I never seen him perform live. He has some good stuff as I said and I have most of it but I believe his real living comes from selling magic more than performing it.

Well I am going by what is out there which is not much, and by his DVDS. Show me one video of Jay performing at a show that someone taped. I am not unfair I am not just as gullible as many.

Yeah that's called speculation.

It is also speculating that Sankey performs for a living since no evidence suggests otherwise.

The link early in this thread doesn't seem to work for some reason. Here is the link to Sparkle with the demo video.

A lot of false "speculations" here as I never said I hated Sankey, if I did I would not have his stuff. I just said that he gets out of control and spews a lot of exaggerated BS in an effort to sell a product, and I expressd my opinion on this effect. If you can't handle honest opinions then maybe you should leave the thread.

Sirbrad I couldn't agree more with your posts. Sankey has a great mind at times, but this ain't it.Funny how there still aren't any raving reviews for this, unlike In A Flash... Think I'll go back to lurking, too much of a facebook mentality starting to crop up here...

Yeah exactly, some people don't like the truth or when others speak it. Not every effect is going to be a winner especially when you release so many.

Not one person on this thread objected to any one stating intelligent, fair opinions about Sparkle or Jay Sankey.

Mike being the Sankey fanboy that you are you seem to be blind to what "fair and intellgent" actually is. Some are just more blunt than others and tell it like it is, you only care about positive comments or negative comments that are sugar-coated. You think that everything Sankey churns out is genius. Well most of it is not, he is just trying cash in off of gullible and uneducated beginners, and in many cases maybe even pro's who are also not too bright. I bet I have more Sankey stufff than you ever will so my opinion is educated, factual, and more qualified than most who only talk on forums. Many are also secret affiliates who give glowing reviews just to get free tricks. So not all of us are so easily "fooled."
I have most of his great stuff from years ago as I said but in recent years he has gotten out of control, and is obviously just throwing out stuff at a rapid rate looking to cash in as much as possible as quick as possible. The Definitive Sankey set is pretty good and not even by Sankey it is just his material. I saw he also just released "Wanderful" which he created "back in college when he did 100 kids shows a year." This is the kinda crap I am talked about with Sankey. Stop the BS lies and just let people decide if they like the trick or not. He churns out so much stuff that most of it is crap, and then he has the nerve to make up stories about how he created it 30-40 years ago and did 100 kid shows a year. I am betting not one of those shows is on tape. He also mostly takes existing effects and modifies them and then calls them his own. Also with "Wanderful" where is the actual performance? All I see is jump cut after jump cut and a lot of talk. That is another issue with demos in the last 10 years, very little magic and nothing but bells and whistles much of the time selling a lie. That is why I love the old classic VHS tape demos from the 80's and 90's, no BS just the trick and the routine. Today all they care about is selling secrets that much of the time can't even be done in the real world, not about selling quality magic that can be. Most of it is "Youtube magic" or can't even be shown on there apparently. They might think some will steal their ideas that they stolen already, but the reality is no one with a half a brain is going to buy something without actually seeing it performed even if it is not live for an audience at least you get an idea of what it will look like. It is easy to just show "parts" and edit out all of the hard work and misdirection. But I will never buy anything that does that either. As a professional and someone who has been in magic for 35 years I buy magic that works in the real world not secrets based on my own curiosity. Very little fools me and if it did that would be something I would want to savor for a long while. Also notice no comments and ratings disabled because Sankey wants to hide the REAL opinions. Like I said I like some of his stuff and got most of his best stuff, but his marketing BS annoys me and most of what he puts out is mediocre at least in recent years.

So has anyone actually bought this yet? I haven't seen any glowing reviews.... Oh yeah, Jay gave it one!

Yeah Jay says it FRIES people! But yeah with most actual great stuff you see a huge thread of glowing reviews. I bet the very few supporters of this effect here do not have it and if they do it was free. They know they will never use it now that the 4th of July is over. Jay just made it up because he was hoping to cash in on the 4th of July. Like I said some of us not as easily fooled.
