Jeff McBride uses in his manipulation video a sequence with 2 balls + a gimmick in which one ball jumps around.

Does someone know some other variations or visual effects you can do with these props?

thank you

You can create a visual colour change by either adding or removing the gimmick. Watch your angles though!

Kevin mentioned a great use for the gimmick in a color change. You can create some nice effect with it using a silk handkercheif to make it look like your are adding the silks' color to the ball which causes it to change.

Another great idea is used by Shimada and is mentioned on his lecture video. It allows for some really nice rapid productions of 1 ball to 3 instantly. It also gives you many options from which to play around with.

I hope these ideas are of help to you.

What is your opinion of the J McBride dvd? I'm particularily interested in coin manipulation, but balls and thimbles sound like fun too! Do you have all three? I have his card manipulation dvd's which I think are stunning, I like his method of teaching.

Thanks!

I highly recommend the McBride Manipulation Videos. It should be in anyone's library who is interested in manipulation.

Handmadeinwales,
if you like the art of manipulation then these video/dvd's are the best. you will get a big range of insights and effects wich can create new effects.
like I am working on with the balls and shell.

on every video/dvd there are coins - balls and thimbles. I recommend all 3 video/dvd. (if jeff McBride reads this I hope we (darkwing and me) get something free for this free add - just joking jeff)

be open minded to this kind of art and you will get great fun out of it.

Thanks, RB

I guess I'll have to buy them!
Does he use ordinary coins and does anyone know where I can buy the thimbles and balls that he uses?
