I would like to know the "standard" of mutobe palm,
1. If your hand is parallet to the floor, is the coin perpendicular to the floor? or does it incline at an angle?

2. Imagine the coin as a clock face, when the coin is mutobe-palmed, the coin should be gripped at 3 and 9? or at other two points , say, 2 and 10?

From the video from which I learnt mutobe palm, magicians seem hold the coin at 2 and 10 and is perpendicular to the floor. Then I have difficulty in doing this. When I apply pressure to 2 and 10 of the coin, the coin is squeezed and can't be held for long due to the its round-shape... I am fine to hold the coin at 6 and 12, but if I have to held it perpendicular to the floor , then part of coin will be exposed even my right mutobe palmed hand is pointing the the left.

Thanks in advance.

Asaka,

I find that 3 and 9 works best for me, perpendicular to the floor. I am right handed, so I "Mutobe" with my right hand. I also rotate my wrist counterclockwise, slightly (the need for that will depend on audience sight lines). A body turn a bit leftward helps, too.

I hope that helps.

Respectfully,

It will depend on how the coin is placed into Mutobe. Here's an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRpIQ5T-vSw
Another routine where the Mutobe is done with the coin at an angle is Harbottle's Flying Wombat.
