Hello all,
I recently became really addicted to Docc Hilford products. I've been a full time pro for over 12 years. It's how I pay my mortgage and enjoy a nice six figure income. As I discovered Docc's stuff relatively recently (I'm primarily a magician) it opened my thinking to new possibilities. In two short months I have purchased Docc's: Death Flight PCMA System 88 Wizard's Manual Corvus Slates Dead Velvet 1 Dead Velvet 2 SwitchBlade A.D.D Boudoir Bill Invisible Stranger Cellular Mitosis 3 ECHO Richey Technique and a bunch of others. I bought it all from Docc's site (www.DoccHilfordProducts.com) and some of the stuff from his NEW site, www.ientertainer.net. So, I think most of it is fantastic and have already incorporated some of it into my shows and the results have been good. With only a partial list like mine that I've bought, (I have bought a ton more in two months) it's obvious I like his stuff otherwise I wouldn't have bought so much in such a short time frame. Most of it has been downloads which is great. My Corvus Slates took (I believe) two months to get to me and because of the delay Docc was in constant contact with me -- good guy. they came, I loved them. Almost three weeks ago, I ordered his Vault DVD set. They were listed as in stock on his new website. (Other items, such as his card sword, were listed as not in stock) Presumably it would then be easier to get the DVDs direct from him. How long would it take to toss the DVDs into a box and ship them out? However I know Docc is on the road a lot, so I waited a little over a week, and sent a very polite email asking the ETA of my order. A day or so later, I received an email from Docc's site (Dan, John, can't remember) apologizing for the delay, they'd look into it, etc. So now I knew that it wasn't just Docc running things, he has a staff. I sell products to magicians too and I'm just a one man operation, so if something takes longer than two days to get shipped out, I let the customer know. So, I know Docc has other people working for hi. Whether they are fulfilling physical product orders or not, I don't know. Is Docc still loading the bozes himself or is the support staff? I don't know. I try to be understanding about this stuff. However, the last communication I received was the ONLY one I ever received and that was almost two weeks ago. I sent two other emails to different email addresses and I received no response. Finally, four days ago, I opened a Paypal dispute. STILL no response. Today, I escalated it to a claim. I will no longer support Docc Hilford's website, which is a shame because I love his stuff. Again, I know personal things pop up - I don't have unreasonable expectations...I just feel that COMMUNICATION is key. Was there an inventory issue? A delay due to personal reasons? No idea. I know Docc was GREAT to me with the Slates delay. But his support staff (which I know he has) really dropped the ball on my order in terms of communication, so unfortunately because of his staff, Docc lost a customer who invested in a lot of his products in a short time. I know Docc has a rabid fan base who will probably attack me for daring to offer any form of criticism, so therefore I will not be checking this thread. Any comments/threats/namecalling can be PM'd. I only intended this as a Public Service Message. |

Sorry about the typos - I meant to say is Docc loading the BOXES himself, not bozes, LOL

UPDATE - finally heard from Docc...it seems as though I was right. Docc was apologetic, his support staff dropped the ball. I feel Docc is a great, stand-up kind of guy. I hope he gets his staff in line, LOL

I was trying to buy some goods off the site and received no response as well after quite a few emails. So had to go else where to buy second hand. Shame as he is missing sales as no one seems to be monitoring the site. He is a stand up guy and luv his products. I hope it gets sorted.

The gripe I have with the new site is the incredible amount of spam. When this first started Docc wrote me a letter saying if I joined his new site, I'd get a free gift.
Guess what the free gift was? A membership to the site. Then more spams, free gift promises which turn out to cost $99 instead of $149. Tiresome. Seems to be what happens when the marketers take over a company. Good luck Docc, I'm out. James ps But if you try to opt out of the email list, you can't, just a loop of links asking you why you want to leave.
Still with the Chinese circus

I too have had problems with the website and Docc's customer service. I've been waiting for store credit that he promised me since May 25th. Last heard from him on June 3rd.

I know I said I wasn't going to go back to this thread but I HAVE TO now. I heard from Docc again (after my original update) and without going into details, I will 100% say I was WRONG to even start this thread. Docc's had some personal matters to attend to and that's all I'm going to say. I wish to hell I had never posted this thread. I will publically apologize to Docc (already have personally) and though I can't take back even starting this thread, I will stand up and say like a man I was wrong to do so. While I don't expect Docc to forgive me, I at least hope he believes in my sincereity. By starting this thread, I added to the negativity of the Café that I !@#$% about in my infrequent contributions.
Again, without going into details, those of you experiencing any delays from Docc, know this: he WILL address you personally. My apologies again. |

It's all about communication Cris, as Docc is a stand up guy as mentioned more than once on this short thread. We can only hope that all gets better for him whatever the personal issue is. He's one of my favourite performers for many years. Good thoughts going your way Docc and thanks for the update Cris.

I did want to make it known that I am not currently in the support loop for Docc Hilford. Nothing happened between us it just is what it is for the moment.
Thanks. Dan |

My problem is that TRESLIBRE was advertised as a limited release, only available for a brief time and it is still being sold nearly five years later. Part of the reason I bought it when I did was because it was falsely advertised as a get-it-while-you-can-won't-be-here-long release.
I've bought plenty of Docc's stuff over the years starting with the cheap-ass, sloppy, stapled together $30-$40 booklets and never really had a problem with anything until this. The over the top advertising has always been part of his charm to me. You learn to realize you aren't going to get the grail he makes it sound like but if it's something that sounds good to you it will be worth getting. Unfortunately after falling for the limited release ploy I just can't bring myself to give Docc any more of my money. |
