I take it that's a no then ? If so I think I know a way of achieving this the way it's shown in the demo with the performer only holding the phone . However I think Joel has a superior method to the one I know .

Yes you can Tarik and this is easier to do when using 4 participants as I suggested in the PDF and how I do it in the version from my book Olivia. (Different end method)

Mykes addition is excellent. I performed this today and it's so hands off. I've had a few messages asking if anything additional needs to be purchased but nothing is needed. Once the initial set up is done this is completely impromptu.

If anybody has any questions just let me know. I've been performing constantly all weekend but from what I've seen all questions are answered. I'm honest too so will always give honest answers.

I hope people are enjoying Code Break.

Best wishes,

Joel

Myke's recommendation was good enough for me so even though I'm skint I figured I'd risk it and I'm glad I did. This does what it says on the tin and is practical and deceptive. Definitely a good backup for iuym pro.

Thanks very much for your thoughts Mark. I really like Mykes idea. I'm performing this tonight and I'm going to pass the phone around the table to see how it goes, I like the idea of passing the phone between participants.

I've not had a chance to read Mykes idea but I would do it on 3 participants not 4 and have them come to a concensus on the last digit. Those that have this will hopefully understand why.

I think in theory Mark's idea is nice but consider the end conversation? Also, you have the very real possibility that the phone will exit the passcode screen and shut down when you patter to much or have to wait for a consensus. You could just set it up in advance but in my opinion this effect and presentation is just right for what you want to achieve.

I have a very similar effect in my book Olivia (exact same 'first' method) the second method, I can take as long as I like with the spectator pressing any digit they like.

Myke you make good points but it just comes down to audience management, there are a number of very quick ways to get the consensus and many of them get you exactly where you want them to be. Hard to say too much without revealing too much but I prefer to manage the 3 to make a quick call rather than have an odd guy out if you know what I mean. The other option is do the up down thing with the first 3 and roll the dice on guy four, if you get an odd guy out its in a positive way.

I have a couple of Joel's prior releases and love them but I must be missing something with this effect.
What is to prevent people from just assuming it is an app of some sort that allows for any 4 digits to apparently unlock the phone?
You are using your own phone after all.

The participant locks the phone before the effect takes place. Hope this helps!

You could borrow their phone, if they don't mind you temporarily resetting their code. Ideal way to do this would be 2 guys, borrow ones phone (if one has droid use that one) reset the passcode (no challenge if he already knows the code). Then have the two take turns on the digits, it unlocks you go into the settings and put the code in so he can reset it. Then you move onto guy two and do Pete Turners iPhone unlock from his ATT lecture (and when in Rome). If you are savvy you can harvest a bit of info from both phones in the process and basically have an app free iuym (not that I'm going to stop using iuym any time soon).

I'm at work so can't leave a detailed review yet but..

I really enjoy this! Very simple, yet deceiving. Another great pin code divination to add to my arsenal.

Best wishes,

So a little more detail this time..

Code Break is very easy to do. I've already tried this out a few times and it got great reactions! The best part is.. You don't need an app and I believe this will work on both the iphone and android phones.

The pdf is well detailed and easy to follow. There are no complicate moves, no math work, no dual reality.. It's just a very simple and fooling method. If presented poorly, I can see this not doing as well so make sure you practice your performance!

Great job Joel, this is absolutely worth the small fee he is asking for. So in short.. Buy it! You won't be dissapointed. Smile

It's good to hear Code Break is being performed by so many magicians.
