Today is July 15, day 1 of the exercise. I hope no one is hurt or imprisoned.
I am going to keep an eye on the News and my local community. I work only a few miles from FEMA Headquarters (region 10) so I am in a good position to see if there is a change in traffic or unusual activity. I doubt we'll hear much on the News but I'm sure there will be isolated minor incidents in the States involved, especially Texas. Time will tell. -Iven

Unfortunately, you can't just tell a paranoid person that it's all going to be okay. Even when they see the reality they will find, sometimes with the help of the media, something else to feel threatened by.

And, as you said, if a predicted outcome doesn't happen, that simply proves that the conspiracy theorists' warnings temporarily prevented it. (But it will come back, you betcha!) Ultimately, anything or anyone that disproves a conspiracy is PART of the conspiracy. That's why some of the big ones are nation-wide or world-wide. "Trust no one, except us. Everyone, except us, is either oblivious or is in on it and we're the only ones bold enough to tell the truth. I'd tell you more but that would be dangerous. On the other hand, if Big Foot shows up at the military exercises in Texas, I'll admit that they may be on to something.

Who's paranoid? I don't think I've ever met a paranoid person. What are the signs of a paranoid person?
Conspiracy? Who said anything about a conspiracy? We all know there is no such thing as a conspiracy, just as there is no such thing as Dragons. It does puzzle me that special rocks are available to ward off Dragons. Maybe Dragons are real. -Iven

Apparently Fox News and other conservative media have the nation's angry Grandpas all stirred up over this, convincing them that this is the beginning of Obama coming to take away their guns and Bibles.

My previous message is not intended as a political or religious commentary. Rather it is an observation on how the media manipulates viewers' perceptions. That should be obvious, but just in case.

However my comment is based in fact: "Volunteer watchdog group dispatches to western states to monitor 'Jade Helm'" http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/07/......ampaign/ I'm not sure why this military training exercise is drawing any attention. The military trains all the time, or at least, I hope it does. |

If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

The type of conspiracy theories we're discussing here are not. However, conspiracy believers will still claim that everyone who disagrees with them, like scientists, are just part of a world-wide conspiracy, so OF COURSE they disagree, It is a hallmark of science that all theories, to be valid, must be falsifiable. Conspiracy theories are not falsifiable, however, since any evidence against them is simply twisted to be further proof of the conspiracy. |
