After two years the new book is finished. The title is Hidden Things and I think a lot of you will find it useful since it covers structure, scripting, storytelling and doing performances in small theaters to private homes. Then a couple of things that really make you keep your brain cells active.
Imagine a Hidden Collection in a Museum. What are the stories behind the objects? Why were their stories suppressed? Here are only a few of the things that T. Everett Bookings, III and Lary Kuehn unleash in this new book. Did Dr. Dee See Spirits? Opera Star or Murderer? A Taino Amulet That Destroys Evil! A Bullet That Senses A Werewolf! Living & Dead – Beaten To Death! And more to delight the imagination of performers of the Spooky and Arcane world of ghosts. Just a few comments: Strange and spooky tales crafted by a master storyteller. Scott Davis (Remember Seance Magazine?) You even tell people how to script and find all of this stuff! Jim Magus Can simple ice cubes help you see ghosts? T. Everett will show you that they can…or at least leave you wondering if your eyes are deceiving you. Mitos Odnalor I really like this. Yitzhak In Hidden Things there is Magick. Seek, and you shall find. Odes Odhner Available Now at http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/teb3 Very modestly priced. You do not need to be a member of a secret society to be privy to the valuable insight in this book. (Of course, it does help.) The author (or authors?) has weaved fantastic storytelling with subtle, but killer, magic in this soon-to-be classic. His advice on performance and character development is superb, he has included suggestions on how to create your own Hidden Collection, there is a wealth of ideas and material you can draw up, and as an added bonus, outline a whole reading system and suggestions on how to use it effectively is provided.
Make some room beside BBoB, Alter Flame, Spirit Theatre, and 13 Steps for "Hidden Things". Soon, it will become as dog-eared as those other invaluable books. Lary is practically giving these away - check out the price! http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/teb3

It has arrived and I have read the first section.
For context - My goal is to be able to provide a short evening's entertainment by way of a seance or similar for a small group of people. I have compiled enough effects to last a dozen seances and I have now begun working on the real content of the evenings: The stories. This book has come along at the perfect time, it is the perfect subject, and it handles it subject wonderfully. The section I have read has stories, stories that connect to each other, stories that connect to effects, and how to get help improving your story-telling and presentations. And the stories are wonderfully creepy. I can pull them out and use them verbatim or adjust them to suit my needs, but I find them very high caliber. If you are into using high quality tales in your performance then I think this is a wonderful addition to your library. |

Actually I think Lulu may have a printing operation in the UK to handle orders across the pond.
