Well, if you are interested in trying hypnosis for small group of people, you either used real hypnosis with the induction and all OR you can try pseudo hypnosis, meaning dressing a mentalism effect with hypnotism theme without bringing the sense of mentalism, as what I've done in the past when situation occurs where real hypnotism is not appropriate to perform, namely when meeting with important small group of people or prospective client, I usually do pseudo hypnotism

Mesmer:

Actually, I always viewed pseudohypnotism as those effects that seem like hypnosis but actually rely on either ideo-motor responses or psycho-physiological effects, not mentalism in disguise.

In fact, McGill, in his Encyclopedia, uses several suggestability tests that rely more on muscle fatigue and ideomotor response as examples of pseudohypnosis.

However, that doesn't rule out using a mentalism effect to simulate an hypnotic event in the least! in fact, I have been known to do that, pretty regularly! Smile

Rex:

I assume I'll be seeing you at the NGH national convention this August! I'm presenting a workshop there on dual inductions with a really wonderful lady named Marcia Proctor. Hope to see you there!

Hey Lee,

I haven't yet made plans but would love to attend if I am able. Would love to be at your workshop. However, it works out for me attending - have a marvelous, positive productive time - as I am already certain you will.

Best regards,
Rex

However you chose to define 'hypnosis' it could be used to create some stunning mind reading effects.
