The torn bottom is a normal part of the routine, done as a convincer.

Just to be clear there is no pre-show with the marking of the paper and nothing needs to be written ahead of time. You (the performer) ask for the the spectators initials in real time during the performance and write them on the paper at that time. The small tear that remains is a convincer John has added to his routine and is supposed to be there. Having that small tear is optional however and not needed for the routine.

Hi all. Re the world magic review: Actually..the verbal review score was something like 90 and 95. But for some reason the text on screen showed something else. Looks like a typo.

I just want to provide a correction, I think the graphic was incorrect as They verbally give it a 95% and a 91% respectively. Just want to make sure the the right information is out there.

Can this be done with standard sized newspaper or any newspaper in generell or only those super small ones used in the trailer? Also what about multiple pages-newspaper? I always found it very cool when preople turned the pages of the newspaper before and after the effect.

I suggest you go back and read the other 7 pages of posts for a clear understanding of this paper tear. All demonstrations of magic tricks only do what is advertised. If you want it to do something else then you have to look elsewhere. That goes for all magic products. You have to show it just as he does, you have to tear just as he does, and you have to do all the moves just as he does, the unfold it just as he does. |

I often collect items I may or may not use in my performances. I have so many types of bill in lemons, linking finger rings. I've learned something from every set I have. A little magic education is important and great! That being said of course I looked into the examiner as I have diffenent gimmicked and non gimmicked ways of tearing and restoring a newspaper. Over all pretty examiner is pretty *** cool! It's not going into magic collection room which is filling up lol I can see myself using this for the right time and shows. If you are working stage, parlor or even close up you will like this a lot. Sometimes watching a demo of an effect does not really allow
You to work through ideas of the story or narratives of what you will say to connect to the audience While you do an effect. That being said when I got this in my hands ideas flooded my mind of how to use this and what to say to the spectators that engage them. We forget our words we choose to use are just as magical as what we use. Got to thank Cole and Paul for recommending this one. Call Hocus-Pocus if you have any questions or concerns on this item. They can walk you through a no hype, nothing hidden review on this to see if you the performer can work well with this type of gimmick or effect. 1 800-407-4040

Set up takes less than a min. If you can fold a sheet of newpaper. Very easy to set up. But you can not set up in frount of someone. After performing this effect if you want to perform it again you will need to set up again but then it will only take less than 10 sec.

For children shows perhaps you can find or have made up treasure maps for a nice pirate theme torn and restored treasure map. You can perhaps also use a torn and restored crayon colored picture theme.

With regards to using it for torn and restored crayon colored pictures, you can use the marker to finish up part of the picture and then write the initials of the birthday child on it and then give the restored picture to the birthday child to keep.
Another idea is to use those magician's helpers certificates/diplomas and give the restored certificate/diploma to the birthday child to keep with your business information on it as well. Michael

Much obliged RNK. At first I had my doubts about this, but after thinking about it for awhile I could see a lot of possibilities. I ordered it and will let you know when I receive it.
Best wishes, Michael
