Hi folks. I'm currently planning a sabbatical next year and am hoping to come to the US. One of the things I would be interested in doing is to do some thinking about Gospel Magic - but I'm not very well connected. Are there any places I should visit, or resources I should know about? We're still at planning stage at the moment so any advice would be appreciated - it might even shape the place we come to! Thanks for any help you can give. Phil

The US is a big place. Where will you be? When will you be there?

There is much in the area of Chicago regarding magic and Gospel magic and magicians regarding shops, clubs (both gospel magic as well as secular magic) magic to see as well as performers and Gospel entertainers and Gospel Magic Evangelist. It is also not too far from the Grand Rapids area of Michigan where there is much going on Gospel magic wise. This in itself is not too far from Colon, Michigan which is the location of the historical Abbott's Magic as well as FAB Magic - this quiet little town has its place in magic history in the States.

Thanks for the quick responses! We still haven't decided on where we're going - it will depend on various factors since I'm hoping to do some study whilst there, and possibly a pulpit swap. Likely to go immediately after Easter for a couple of months. And there may be the opportunity for some travel - hence any and all suggestions welcome at this stage! Thanks.

Gary Baker is on the FCM board and runs a bricks and mortar magic shop in Florida. Lots of good stuff at decent prizes.
Have wand will travel! Performing children's magic in the UK for Winter 2014 and Spring 2015.

Check the FCM web site for dates of Regional Events and the International Conference.

Plans continue to wobble around! There is some possibility we may end up in the Chicago area - which sounds promising from the above. But we're also looking at Louisville area. Is there much of a Gospel Magic scene around there?
